  1. thanks for the reply, this forum just gets better by the day with the info you need quicker than you can look it up in a book
  2. thanks for the info Chris i thought that would be the case
  3. i understand that the abbot and 432 are of the same series of vehicles so probably have many parts and designs in common but which is the wider, or are they about the same?
  4. i can remember going on the dukw in the late 70's but unfortunatley have no idea what happend to the vehicle. but i do remember there being quite a large scrap yard just outside kettering, i hope that it did not end up there
  5. I suppose i asked for that one!!!! :cool2:
  6. How come B&E Boys are still advertising many vehicles on thier website (select military vehicle sales) when most of the vehicles where sold at auction ?
  7. you could also try www.steelsoldiers.com as there is a huge amount of information on m35 trucks here
  8. Hi, start with looking directly above the drivers side front tyre on the frame for the serial number If you don't see it, try the passenger side in the same place, unfortunatly it will probably be coverd by many layers of paint
  9. Many thanks for your clarification on this subject, anything to do with driving and the law seems to get more and more confusing.
  10. Please correct me if i am wrong but i think that you only have to take the CPC if you are driving as a proffession and not as a private individual. ie you have a horsebox or a HGV being used for personal use.
  11. Nice selection of vehicles you have there Jimmy, is that a M54 with super-singles, nice truck but needs plenty of storage space. The M1008 and M1009 are a bit more practical size for most people and you can keep them on your driveway
  12. I came across the Marltrax web site today, but it looks like it hasn't been updated for a long time and is just a single page with a few pictures. I can remember a few years ago when they seemed to have many M-series vehicles and parts for sale.
  13. I think that this truck was probably a petrol engined vehicle to start with, but later on was converted to a multi-fuel / diesel. this seemed to also happen to quite a lot of early M35 trucks
  14. may i take the opportunity of wishing all members and thier families a HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D
  15. Hi all, is there any legal limitations to what size or type of vehicle you can keep on your property, ie private driveway, or is it just down to how understanding your nieghbours are
  16. Visited the victory show at cosby leicestershire today and what a great show it turned out to be, lots of great ww2 dioramas and a battle re-enactment that was second to none. There was a good amount of stalls and other vehicles to look at not just ww2 equipment as i thought it was going to be. I was also impressed by the amount of aircraft flying displays including Mustangs, Lancaster, Spitfire, Hurricane, B17 and the Vulcan that did a simulated bomb run. all the air displays wern't rushed and the aircraft seemed to stay around for along time giving the crowds a good show. this was the best show i have been to this season and i hope it gets better every year, judging by the amount of visitors that were there today and its location it could turn into one of the best shows on the military calender
  17. Went to Kemble M.V.T. show today (sunday), as usual there was a good variety of vehicles to see. unfortunately changing the dates didn't seem to help with the weather as it was cold and windy. there didn't seem to be as many vehicles this year as i have seen in previous years not much armour on view but this is probably down to the cost of transport and the general state of the economy. still a good show and worth the visit, a quick thanks to vehicle exhibitors in these hard economic times for taking the time and expence of turning up at shows like this.
  18. it almost makes you want to move to the other side of the pond
  19. i hope they end up in a sale and don't go to the scrap yard as so many others do, thanks for your help
  20. any idea when these trucks will be desposed of and who by, i hope they don't just go for scrap
  21. can anyone tell me if track laying vehicles need to have any ministry test to be used on the open road or they fall into an exempt loop hole such as vehicles over a certain weight and age, also wheather there is a speed restriction on such a vehicle or what class of road that it can run on cheers chaps!!!!
  22. pitty it clashes with the M.V.T national, never mind just hve to visit both!
  23. I seem to remember that there used to be a show at the N.A.C near coventry a few years back that was quite well attended by military vehicles I think it was around the august bank holiday, does this show still exist or has it now just become another part of history?
  24. wow!! what a sight to see all those M35's in convoy. unfortunatly iv'e never been to the w&p show due to work commitments, but next year i am going to make time to go. thanks for the link
