antarmike
Bass Ale’s ‘Red Triangle’ becomes the first registered trade mark in Britain. Totally non military related I know, but I guess soldiers have drunk a pint or four, and I like Bass!
antarmike
Other famous triangles include AEC's blue triangle, and Alvis turned the red triangle upside down to make it theirs. fv1609
Totally non military related I know, Maybe it is! The first record of using symbols on British military stores was in 57/Hong Kong/720 Distinctive marks for packages for the Expeditionary Force in China. 18th October 1859. The red triangle indicated it was in the jurisdiction of the Military Store Keeper. Subsequently in 57/Montreal/541 Circular, No. 732. Marking of General Stores for Service of an Army in the Field. 21st December 1861. The red triangle now indicated Miscellaneous Stores. No doubt troops were provided with beer & presumably would be marked as Miscellaneous Stores. Maybe Bass thought they could capitalise on this association so that even veterans would feel a welcome bond with the red triangle whenever they saw it? Tony B
Something, literally of the back of a cornflake packet, is muttering in the back of the mind that the triangle was used as a mark of quality back in the Middle ages. As an aside does anyone have the list of the suit of card marks for military stores?
woa2
Just a bit about logos. I used to work for Vodafone. The word is made up from Voda meaning New and Fone meaning phone. Saatchi and Saatchi thought it up. Just thought you might like to know that - might be useful in a Pub Quiz.

Degsy
I think he must be into chocolate biscuit snacks? He's not on his own there although I rather favour plain chocolate wholemeal.
Tony B
It is the food, forage one I wanted to make sure of, making a couple of copies of ration boxes. Sorry to spoli it all but I'm a Garabaldi man myself. A life of following the mushy fly.
