Mrs Bridget Driscoll of Croydon in South London becomes Britains first pedestrian killed in a road accident. She is hit by a car travelling at only 4 mph. The lady being unfamiliar with traffic freezes in panic in the path of the approaching vehicle.

 

 

Why the driver didn't stop isn't explained...
