mjom89
Can anyone help with the correct alternator required for my T244? I cannot find a part number on the alternator or in the documentation online. I am currently going with: https://www.dfjauto.com/DFJ010155
johnwardle
The correct alternator for a Leyland Daf T244 is 90 amps, the NSN is 6115-99-255-3125, there is no manufacturers part number on the 711 (parts list) but there is a FV part number FV2034150. I would suggest finding a good auto electrician and getting a quote for a rebuild, I had the alternator on my FFR Land Rover rebuilt for a fraction of the cost of a new one. Richard Farrant
There are some numbers coming up for that NSN, it is a Prestolite alternator with two number coming up as well as NSN and FV number, they are VN62-5187 and V6500-84 Don't know if this will help. The fact it has an FV number would indicate it is a special military build.
mjom89
Thanks both - that is helpful. A rebuild was my preferred option but the DAF gets a lot of use this one of year so I am happy to spend a bit more for a quicker turn around. I will report back to help others if I find one that fits.
