James Gosling
Hi, On each front wing is a bracket / mount about 12 inches high. It looks like wires were attached to it, there is a hole below the bracket in the wing which looks like it would have taken cabling of some sort. There are no holes in the top plate to take an aerial mount. Any suggestions would really be appreciated. James
Richard Farrant
Hi James, If the Otter had been in postwar service, I would have suggested it might be an electric semaphore indicator, but that would be out of the question in this case. James Gosling
Hi Richard, I wondered if it might have been something to do with loud speakers or maybe for external telephonesif it was an FOO vehicle.
Nick Johns
Found this 1970 dated pic on a Dutch Police vehicle site of an Otter with same brackets on both front wings, could be for semaphore indicators as Richard suggested Edited December 19, 2013 by Nick Johns
