scammellpioneer
Seem to be having trouble with the throttle on our Scammell, the linkage is fairly free, well as free as we can get it up to the engine, but the arm that is attached to the side of the engine near the engine oil lid, in the timing case? It is very stiff on its own this arm and we can't work out how to free it up? Also the engine when running never seems to stay at a steady idle, it's always going up and down even when the engine had warmed up, the control rod is still going in and out all the time. Any help with these issues would be great! John
Grasshopper
Its been a while since I've worked on a Gardener but the fuel racks can rust up if not used for a while. Somewhere near the top of each "half" of the fuel injection pump is a small screw you remove and squirt some lub oil in. This could also be the cause of the hunting (or not).
