I know!! It's just finding time, as hard as it sounds, by the time I'm home it's dark haha! There will be some tomorrow I swear! won't be getting the new one home for some time as its not yet drivable, it runs just that the clutch stop drum is a tad distorted and has a few chunks out of it haha! So once we put a new drum on that we have hopefully we can drive her down the lane, in the time being it will be staying at a friends house who has the low loader! How are your scammela doing Niels?

Seem to be having trouble with the throttle on our Scammell, the linkage is fairly free, well as free as we can get it up to the engine, but the arm that is attached to the side of the engine near the engine oil lid, in the timing case? It is very stiff on its own this arm and we can't work out how to free it up? Also the engine when running never seems to stay at a steady idle, it's always going up and down even when the engine had warmed up, the control rod is still going in and out all the time. Any help with these issues would be great! John

Sorry there has been no updates for a while, not had much time for the Scammell! We have just started on the cab and have taken of the front panel and ate just drilling all the new holes in the new panel. We still need to take of the rest of the cab panels, the radiator, finish stripping down and painting the winch cleaning engine and gear box and then paint them! Then while the cab is still stripped down we will start on the re-wiring which looks like a big job!! We had a Diesel engine specialist up the other day to have a look at the engine and he seams to think there could be a tappet/exhaust valve problem so we are going to have to do something with that. Have done a little bit more painting in the chassis only first coat will be getting some more! Welded the bottom of the tank as it was leaking and put it back on for time being!

me and my dad went to see this scammell a couple of years back when it was for sale, very nice truck! the owner was going through a tricky divorce so the scammell had to go, think the owner selling it now is a different person though. -
hi all. we are holidaying in wells-next-the-sea this week and took a trip down to see someone with a lot of spares for trucks, and we bought a air cleaner, dash bored gauges, front towing hook/hitch,on engine oil filter and a metalastik coupling for the drive from engine to gearbox and two nearly new tyres and a regulator and a starter motor. the rear body one the first scammell is nearly done just one more box to make for one side and then a bit of painting, the scammell is still having the bronze bushings made for the rear axle. john

will try put some pics on in the morning, painted up one side of the rear body so can start on the other side. not made much progress really. been to see "ruggyjohn" from the forum who has our scammell and is re-bushing the rear axles for us, he has git it all stripped down its all going fine, he says they needed doing cause it was near to wearing the axle casing down.
