Importing a WW2 vehicle from France

Hello,

 

We have located a Dodge in Normandy for sale at a dealers, its registered in France and is roadworthy, the problem is I can't find any concrete information on possible Import Duty or VAT once entering the UK.

 

Has anyone else done this before and what did you encounter, we are going to ring the DVLA/HMRC and see what they say, but I'm not expecting them to be very helpful.

you`ll not have a problem as France is part of the EU , assuming your using this for yourself and it`s a private transaction, buy it ,bring it back ,register it ,to register it in the uk there is a fee but this is made simpler if you have the french papers
