rampant rivet Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Am restoring Champ 05BE56 at the mo and as it is part owned by my wife Caroline I would like to mark the vehicle up in Memory of Carolines grandfather who served with the wilts regiment during and post WWII. Can anyone tell me what markings a champ from around 1952--55 would carry when in service with this regiment ? Thanks RR. Quote
Rover8FFR Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 RR I suspect you have tried these avenues already?? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiltshire_Regiment http://www.1914-1918.net/wilts.htm http://boards.fool.co.uk/this-wikipedia-page-gives-many-of-the-brigades-and-12522742.aspx?sort=postdate http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/allied-units-general/10838-wiltshire-regiment-book.html http://www.wdbsa.nl/division_markings.htm http://boards.fool.co.uk/theres-a-good-example-of-how-the-igsignia-should-12522770.aspx?sort=postdate Regards Quote
Peter4456 Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 If you join the Austin Champ Owners Club, I'm sure John Mastrangalo will be able to help you - he has an incredible knowledge of 50s and 60s Div / Brigade / Unit markings and signs. Once you have the information, it's quite easy to replicate the markings - your local signs shop should able to help. Please post some photos of your Champ when it's finished! Quote
