Very new to the forum and am full of stupid questions and very little answers.
I really want to know about ww2 tools and pioneer equipment so if anybody could point me to any threads on the subject that would be a great start. I am an avid collector of any wd marked tools but struggle to get any information about manufacturers, part numbers, manuals e.t.c.
To start with I have my Grandads tools bag who was with the Royal Artillery from 1938-45. I didn't realize it was an army toolbag until I saw a similar one on Ebay which I purchased. The new one is dated 1956 but my grandfathers one looks older and has W /|\ D on the lid. They are made of leather with a metal tray.
My Questions are when did they start using these tool bags and are they vehicle related ? Who would they have been issued to ?
