As ive seen a number of these 110s on withams website up for sale im asking myself why these arent on our roads being used by the armed forces as opposed to the frequent number of wolves that you see in convoy along with pinzgauers ,

 

Was the project a faliure with the reliability of the vehicle or was it they couldnt keep up with what was expected on them in service? To retain the 2.5 na under the bonnet was a obvious mistake for 110 vehicles but apart from that why with all thats going on in the british army why are they being sold off ?

 

 

 

Would love to know as no one seems to have done anything about them they seem to be a very much overlooked land rover .

Not sure as to why they are being sold off early But they should have been TDi'ed parts commonality with the wolfs etc. They would have cost alot in the scheme of things. They are using the wolf 90's to make more 110's they could have put all the bits from the 90s and fitted them into the later/good nick 110s

But its only money eh?

We've still go ours but they are Cr@p with lots of faults, and engine couldn't pull it out of bed. the rear wheels had wheel studs too short and it is really a cosmetic and not a mechanical makeove to extend their life in TA service etc. We even got one back missing it's generator (was an FFR) and no one picked up on it until we started to use it.

So other than the rear wheel bolts not being long enough (is it a case of fitting longer ones as have been done on

some wolves) what other problems have you incurred on these land rovers ?
