piot1940
In a set of "copied" vehicle documents is this round label. A kind vehicle registration tag. Was this placed behind the front windscreen or just kept with other documents? Was it used with the BEF? Was this used on Military vehicles or only on requisitioned civillian vehicles? regards, Jean
Richard Farrant
Hi Jean, They were placed inside a round licence disc holder affixed to the outside of the vehicle. It was diecast alloy with a glass front, the back had to be unscrewed to insert the licence. regards, Richard

piot1940
I went trough a book about tilly's and saw different of them with the label just behind the windscreen. Somebody else told me they were always taped or placed behind the windscreen. Isn't it possible the WD marked disc holders are post war?
