  1. I have been looking at some of my recent posts and I am afraid I have become a grumpy old man. Maybe we need a GOM section on the board where I and others like me who have reached the GOM stage in life can post away, but which the younger more enthusiastic members can avoid and maintain their youthful innocence and optimism about the world and mankind!

wot o antarmike, just a suggestion what about a daily antarmike joke to cheer us old gits up a bit

  7. :argh: When I think of the kit lying around when I was a kid! two German feild phones, Ten Shillings! Took them to school and John Watley the physics teacher helped me re wire them, a wooden rifle rack dragged out a bunker the sand dunes. An old Jeep wrecked and half buried at St Peter's. German barbed wire by the roll, got p**** off digging it out of the feild and dumping it. A friend's Grandfarther used a set of German Heavy horse harness for years on his horse Dolly. KAR 98 bayonet, swopped it for some bike bits!

hindsight is a wonderful thing, i wish i had a lot of it

  9. Hi Graham,

That is the complete trailer, 6 wheels, remember in those days, the speed limit would have been about 20 mph for that weight. Not really possible now, but would look good. The vacuum brake connection on the K6 is for this trailer.

ha ha speed limit 20mph i would have thought 5mph towing that with a k6

  10. help...... i gave my morris a run tonight to fuel up, only to find water leaking from the head gasket when i got back, its booked in for a show on sat so i urgently need to repair it, i've heard John Walker sells Morris C8 gaskets but havent got his number? can anyone help me out or suggest a solution, the show is 26 miles each way, so only local hence why i dont want to let them down...

wot o mike, i had same problem on my jeep, i had the head off and after 100 miles forgot to re torque head down, worth a try maybe

an M20 won t do that in 3.1 minutes :rotfl:

  14. Graham,

Have you dug up the wood yet, might be some bits and pieces buried there. Will bring my shovel :)

    wot o richard,

shortly after the regiment went to dieppe, grandad said they took heavy casualties and they never came back to the wood, after they left my dad looked around and only found a crowbar and an axe which i still have and a few empty boxes

    regards graham

  15. wot o jack, way back in may 1942 opposite my grandads farm is a 60 acre wood where a regiment of canadians were camped they were always on the scrounge for extra food, one day they came round with a lorry and in the back was a brand new WLA still in its crate wrapped in wax paper and another crate of spares the sargeant said would keep it going into the next century for this they only wanted 3 chickens, 2 dozen eggs some veg a bag of spuds and 50 quid

needless to say my gradfather did t take up the offer  and im not riding around on a WLA (hindsight what a wonderful thing )

    regards graham
