Graham, Think it was the green one that had the rope and it was from a Bedford MJ.
The length should be 185 feet and with six coils on the drum the rope should be painted red along its length by the fairleads, to warn when to stop paying out.
Richard
richard, you are a wealth of information, thank you very much :

wot o richard,
the reason i asked for length of rope as my k6 has not got one on it, it was supplyed by pete on the cotton reel in back of lorry, ive got to have an eye put on one end, so when i unroll it off of the cotton reel i don t want to cut it too short, i did t know wether you had a book on the winch :-D
thanks graham

good show david, my lorry now has head back on but need to do tappets and put carb on, one valve was left at engineers place on last fri so could not refit at weekend, and now weather today, as doing job o natural will not make ardingly now  might see you at w and p if i can get through the mud in gateway.

Was down there today, met Mark with his WLF, Sean and Lee. America Field is firm, but not good around the entrance to the field and up by the shower block and bridge, needs a few loads of hardcore dropped in.
As a local, I find in this part of the country, it does not always follow the pattern of the forecasts, especially when coming up from the SW, so I am being positive........but still taking umbrella, w/proof and wellies though :-D
Richard
wot o richard, hope that being positive you have not shorted out today in the rain :cool2:
ps do you know the length of the winch rope on the k6 ?
