hi steve,
with regards to petrol additive, if i run my hotchkiss jeep with no additive the carb float sticks and floods the carb, i know of 3 people with jeeps locally and they dont use additive and have no problems:confused:, the additive i use is from morris oils and it works for my jeep and its reasonably priced too

The soldier stood and faced God which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining just as brightly as his brass. "step forward now, you soldier! How shall i deal with you ? have you always turned the otherway ? To the church have you been true ?" The soldier squared his shoulders and said "No lord, i guess i aint because those of us who carry guns can t always be a saint, i ve had to work most sundays and at times my talk was tough and sometimes i ve been violent, because the world is awfully rough. But i never took a penny that was t mine to keep... Though i worked alot of overtime when bills got too steep, and i never passed a cry for help, though at times i shook with fear, and sometimes, God forgive me, i ve wept unmanly tears.
I know i dont deserve a place among the people here, they never wanted me around except to calm their fears. If you ve a place for me here lord, it need t be so grand, i never expected or had too much, but if you don t i will understand." There was a silence around the throne where saints had often trod, as the soldier waited quietly for the judgement of his God. "Step forward now you soldier, you have borne your burdens well, walk peacefully on heavens streets, you ve done your time in Hell!"

what a wonderful woman mrs Beckett is, she knows that a ward la france is different to a sherman and that a ferret is not a pig or a fox, when i said to my wife that i might get a ferret or a fox she :n00b: and said our dog would eat them .............. after that i thought it best not to mention the pig :-D

is there anybody in forum land that could help me identify this bandolier please,
i brought it from an army surplus stand at the south of england show in 1978-9 for five quid, apart from it being military (i think) i know nothing else about it, i use it for carrying shot gun cartridges, it holds eight cartridges per pouch, it has stamped on belt
no. 3140
14.R and three small crowns
what i would like to know is the age and what it was originally used for/ carried
thanks

Hi Graham. It certainly is the one. With a bit of luck it won't be a replica gun for long.
There's a nice IWM photo showing a C9/B in Korea. The caption says it belonged to 11 LAA Battery. Was your mate with them?
wot o ivor,
got in touch with my old mate bill today and i think ive written this down right,
11th SPHINX MORTAR BATTERY, 34 LAA, 14TH BRIGADE
they had 4 inch mortars and sp bofors and worked together as the bofors were not much use under 1000 yards, if the enemy broke through, the mortars could still be used
if you could post any pics you have on sp bofors in korea bill would be very grateful
thanks
