Is it definitely a funeral? the wagon looks like a small stores/baggage wagon and the formation looks more like a parade -perhaps before going off on an expedition or to war etc. The wagon would be draped in union flag and not as tall a tilt as one shown. The mounted officers etc have equipment attached to saddles which wouldn't normally be seen on parades and troops would be wearing black arm bands etc if a funeral.
Just my thoughts

Can't believe no interest, there must be some people out there interested in a new (small initially) working MV and home front museum in Scotland (not too many around here at moment)Gary

Guys
We, our charity, is launching a new project to put together a Home Front and western desert (REME Local Repair Service) working Museum and asking for as many people to visit the link (maybe help fuel it) and try to pass onto as many people as possible round the world.
Help get a new military based museum off the ground and hopefully assist some long term unemployed people into interesting work and keep our hobby alive. Likewise, we support various services charities- over £10,000 raised this year

Best Regards and let's keep the hobby alive

Sounds good, to be honest never seen the woodland ones until the big NATO exercises in the 80s, if used earlier it must have been some leg units or marines as we had the one shown above on the stand.

What about car exporters (or importers in US) who may have spare capacity in one of their containers?

Whilst attending a show during the Summer I spoke to an ex REME Soldier who told me he was part of a small team who restored a Willys Jeep (which was apparently ex SAS/LRDG) and installed it into the entrance hall of a (mess) or concourse at a barracks in London. as it was a few years ago and he couldn't really remember which one or location (could have been the TA 21 SAS Regt(V) or the Guards Regiment etc).
Just wondering if anyone has any details of this and whereabouts etc
Thanks

Hi
Just had my jeep engine (GPW L134 flathead etc) refurbished and 2 cylinders have been rebored. now have two sizes of bores. Does anyone know where I can get pistons & rings seperately to save me buying 8 (two sets of 4) to get 2 from each?
Thanks

In the 70s we used to wear a green peter storm waterproof (with white zip darkened with the old zit fertilising cam cream) under our Dennison Smocks, then the 80s came and 1/2 the regiment had DPM barbour jackets
