Ha ha, sorry Morris mate, would love to help out, just to get some experience on them, but i'm afraid i cut my teeth in on mine and that was bad enough, being a builder not a mechanic! so prob best not let me near anything mechanical just yet... though i am studying your pics with interest to see how it all comes apart and fingers crossed, goes back together!?

  5. Excellent news, well done Paul for posting it on here and bringing it to everyones attention.... i tried reading the reasons on the link, got about half way down and then slipped into a coma! do you think the person who wrote that actually made sense of it after??
  6. Adding to request for C8 spares, i'm also seeking a few odd bits if anyone out there has them? i need the nut which seals to the top of the brake and clutch fluid container. The metal 90* tube which the air filter sits into, think it bolts to floorpan? Details on how the spare wheel is fixed to the rear body. A headlight. cheers....
  7. Fascinating pictures... great help to some of us with restoration etc... can i ask a stupid question, what is this object in the photo, i dont have one on my C8 and havent seen it before? And before anyone berates me about manuals etc...i've ordered them 2 weeks ago and still waiting.
  8. wow... didnt realise there was so much a Cobbaton! Think that justifies a trip there soon. I'll put (museum) next to those couple as they arent out and about on the show circuit as such, but still worth adding to the list to see how many are still out there? 1, Z9273401 = TAF 2, Z5812347 = Chris (milweb) 3, Z5813657 = John Wheatley 4, Z5810792 5, Z5812885 = Keith Brooker 6, Z58133442 = Mike smith ( me ) 7, one with a reg number ( 57 IF UP ) but no bonnet number but obviously a different reg to any of the others. 8, Z5812148 = Rick 9, Z5812229 = Jules 10, Z5812059 = John (00EC25 ) 11, Z3908145 = Guernsey owner. 12, Z5706948 = ( windscreen mag ) 13, Z56**539 = (museum - tilbury ) 14, Z5872952 = ( Duxford 1990 ) 15, Z1633--0 = (Southsea 1991 ) Thanks for the info guys!

  11. i presume its the one presented by max hastings?? where they go deep inside the flack tower in the zoogarden park area? if you desperate for a copy of it, pm me your details as i recorded it to dvd and can do you a copy... i have a habit of recording pretty much most things WW2... drives the misses nuts! :cool2:
  12. Nice link Rick... i've been around the bunker next to the Anhalter station, its huge, very impressive and earie! i walked around it alone as mate i travelled with deicided to give it a miss! i remember reading that it was so packed in there towards the end of the war that 2 old ladies had died on the staircase but had been propped up by others sat tthere too and no one knew they were dead! also they had to seal off the toilets and so many people were commiting suicide in them, i read that just after i'd spent a penny in them! hopefully getting back there soon and will book up an underground tour!
  13. Thank you.... well thats 10 so far that seem to be or will be road worthy on the show circuit. i have chatted to a few other guys at shows who own them but didnt have them with them, so obvoiusly a few more out there, a guy from Jersey?? who was at Kemble owns 2 of them.. 8, Z5812148 Rick 9, Z5812229 Jules 10, Z5812059 John (00EC25 )
  14. ok, excellent! thank you, list is improving and more than i had initially thought.... 1, Z9273401 = TAF 2, Z5812347 = Chris (milweb) 3, Z5813657 = John Wheatley 4, Z5810792 5, Z5812885 = Keith Brooker 6, Z5813442 = Mike smith ( me ) 7, one with a reg number ( 57 IF UP ) but no bonnet number but obviously a different reg to any of the others. 8, Z5812148 Rick 9, Z5812229 Jules :tup::
  15. i've no idea where i saw it but i've a habit of saving pics of morriss's i come across, i agree with you, i'd say its very likely from a film, its a typical movie type shot being up high... inidentaly, should they all have blackout lamps? mine currently has both headlights, this is wrong i presume then? guess i'll be looking for some black out lamps....:shake:
  16. No i havent seen a copy of this edition yet, though i've heard about it, i'll look for it next trade fair, i've seen a few wild and wonderful types while scouring the net for images.... this one puzzled me as not sure a piano on the back is going to save your bacon should you come under fire!
  17. Yes i sympathise with not being able to justify buying the C9b, though it'd look pretty impressive popping to tesco's shopping! Well, i've finally solved the red engine light problem this morning, after trial and error i discovered no power coming from generator, found this out simply by connecting bulb in holder with wires direct to generator connections with engine running... nothing, so i figured i'd check condition of bushes, and to my delight found that the nut and bolt with connects the wire on the bush to the generator was missing, hence no charge or connection, insering a new bolt and hey presto.... light now goes off with engine running and alt meter works! only snag is i missed the 1st day of chill out weekend et evesham, but going over tomorrow ( fingers crossed ) for the ride out etc... will see how air filter and fuel economy performs now i've connected it and put oil in?
  18. Yes i've seen this morris on milweb, i thinks its Chris #####?? i had it listed as Z5812347 which is number 2 on the list? There is a morris C9b bofors also on milweb if you have the cash!
  19. ok great looks like we could be getting somewhere with this... 1, Z9273401 = TAF 2, Z5812347 = Chris (milweb) 3, Z5813657 = John Wheatley 4, Z5810792 5, Z5812885 = Keith Brooker 6, Z5813442 = Mike smith ( me ) 7, one with a reg number ( 57 IF UP ) but no bonnet number but obviously a different reg to any of the others. 8, Z5812148 Rick ok cheers Morris C8 fat, i'm only using the Z numbers to visibly identify those around still. Its just a bit safer than displaying peoples number plates i hope.....
  20. Cheers Paul, his is on the list though, seems to be the most photographed C8 GS around?
  21. While i was scouring for pics to use as reference for rebuild, i've counted 7 so far that i have seen, including mine. These are the numbers taken from the photo's i have, i havent included names or reg numbers in case anyone objects.... 1, Z9273401 2, Z5812347 3, Z5813657 4, Z5810792 5, Z5812885 6, Z58133442 7, one with a reg number but no bonnet number but obviously a different reg to any of the others. if anyones number is on here and objects i'll willingly remove it. i'd be very interested if anyone can add to this list? These are GS C8's that i've seen or found recent photo's of. The 2 at tilbury, are they C8's?
  22. Hi Paul, whats the rough schedule of events whis weekend? i'll be over with family in morris, hoping to camop over sat night, tony hoping to get his M20 running properly sun tio make the ride out but just wondered kick off times?
  23. ok thanks for all the suggestions, i'll refit the air filter, adding oil, i'll check the hose, float and choke, i'm taking it to the chill out weekend this sat so i'll notice anny improvement as its exactly the same amount of miles so fingers crossed, (the dawnpatrol) i had heard about 8-10 to the gallon is quite normal, so i guess i'm not too far under par, but anything is worth trying to save on liquid gold! rick, i will try to get a couple of pics to you about fixing points, but i noticed there are 4 triangular flat steel plates on the chassis with holes in them, so i bolted straight through the timber rear body into these, seems to work so far..... just a query... anyone got any idea how many C8's are still running to shows etc... i've seen a few CS8's but not too many C8's? and lots of photo's i've seen on here are variations of the same few?
  24. I saw this left in a field behind a farm not too far from where i live, i've no idea what period its from or what it is?
