  1. Hi all Here is a video made by a mate of mine from the last years WW1 weekend at the fort. Great pictures of this years event.
  2. Re Bonnet Stars I think the solid ring round the star donates Invasion force and the broken ring donates Occupation force and yes the yellow/brownish colour in between the stars legs is gas detection paint. Paul
  3. Hold on a minute thats me sitting in the tent!!! You aint got one of me in the arena, have you? Paul
  4. Sorry I aint got one:(, just saw that on Ebay a while ago. Was going to get it but the person wanted £20. so I did not bother, dont think it sold either. Best wishes Paul

  8. I have been attending this event for the past 4 years, it is normally well attended by reenactors and veterans. Here is the link to the official web site http://www.rurallife.plus.com/rlc/ it is located in Farnham, Surrey and the whole place is set up like a small village with displays inside the buildings, they even have a fully furnished prefab which you can walk around and a small section of train track with running engine. It is all very laid back and I believe run by volunteers. Apparently the Canadian army trained in the area prior to D-Day and there are mock ups of the Atlantic wall in the woods. I have also been told that the Band of Brothers was filmed in the area.
  9. Only attended on the Saturday this year, great weather and bigger and better vehicles, reenactors and displays. Fantastic wood and canvas mock up of a Sherman tank based on ones used to fool the ememy.
  10. Hi I think the standard is about 2 foot square at the bottom and 3 foot high (thats what mine are), but there are many variations, just type in dragons teeth in a search engine and bobs your uncle. Best wishes
  11. Re Small wall tent....try getting one today!! where have they all gone?? Mine came from Norway and is marked 1943. Quartermaster BE do repro ones, canvas is ok but poles are not and need replacing.
  12. Hi Here are some pictures of Tilford 06, 07 was a wash out. Nice little event not too many MOP's as not normally very well advertised. 514th Red Ball were there last year in force along with the usual suspects. Free dance in the village hall which is on site, Screaming Eagles stage a battle in the woods. Air raid during the day with downed German pilot etc, etc. Oh and they normally do road runs for the MOP's in Jeeps to the local mock up of the Atlantic wall and pill boxes that were used for training the Canadians in the run up to D-Day.
  13. Hi Yes dragons teeth, made with some chipboard and painted with masonry paint with a little extra sand thrown in then weathered. The best thing about them is they stack on each other for storage.
  14. Hi all Here are a couple of snaps of my Fort Nelson Battle of the Bulge display, this was my first attempt at doing a small snow scene. Jeep has a make shift anti decapitaion device on the front bumper and some muppet sweeping for mines with German prisoner behind (dont know where he came from, the German that is)
