  1. Living in the middle of nowhere has its' advantages, this is about half a mile from the house.
  2. The other side shows off what it should do.
  3. If you look carefully at the previous pictures you can see that the drivers side walking beam is stuck. It's a bit more obvious in this one.
  4. With it parked at my place one of the first jobs was to fit some headlamps, the more major job was to fix a leaky radiator.
  5. I finally got it delivered home at the end of September, got it off the lorry in the village and drove it the last mile up to the house.
  6. Having lost what I had done so far, here is the condensed version. :cool2: After wanting an Explorer for years I finally bought one in September last year (2007). Although I did have to miss GDSF to fund it. It had not been used since '89 but started first turn when we went up to look at it in Dingwall. None of that expensive petrol stuff, it's got a Leyland 0680 Powerplus fitted. :-D
  7. I am wondering if it would be worthwhile copying the RAF modification before I get the problem. :undecided:
  8. How common is this problem? mine is intact and of the other Explorers I looked at only one was broken (and held in place by bits of rope) the one I posted in the gallery thread didn't look broken but had the extra stays, that Explorer was a very late RAF one so maybe this was a preventative modification?
  9. Don't think you are safe, whatever technology you have got, watch out for this one. :cool2::rofl:
  10. This Mat was restored a couple of years ago by its' owner, Mike Gilbert, in Dorset. Antarmike posted a picture of it unrestored and in need of TLC, any chance of posting it again Mike? It had a mostly green cab with a wooden headboard and some red on bits of the cab. The giveaway that it was the same one was a v shaped metal frame with bits sticking off, on the drivers side a bit behind the cab. This is how it looks now.
  11. a couple of sensible shots.
  12. What they look like underneath.
  13. If you want to improve a Pig Gallery you need to get some Scammell into it:-D A bit of off roading Playing with the Jib
  14. This is the gate on the very late RAF Explorer that I nearly bought. There are two tie bars running from the back down through the floor. I will try and get better pictures next time I see it, don't know quite when it will be though.
  15. more GDSF. Doesn't that landy look small :-D
  16. Heres one I saw at GDSF '05 without the rear woodwork fitted, it shows the winch and jib gear quite nicely.
  17. I use Image Shack, it's much the same as Photobucket, which I see you have now figured out. Steve.
  18. We had a "great minds think alike" moment last night when Andy started this thread at almost exactly the time I did the same thing in "British Vehicles". Have a look there, can you guess which pictures I started with.....
  19. Here are a couple I looked at but didn't buy.
