  1. Now with these short daylight periods I try to do the small jobs on the radio box. Fitted the aerial isolator and now need to make the blackout box for the inside . Cleaned up the courtesy light for over the two side windows.
  2. Hello Simon. If I look at the wiring diagram from the Morris C4 W/T there they mention about a Amp meter , but I am still looking for the right meter. Think for the moment it will be a dated Volt meter until I find something suitable. But for the moment I just been looking to find a spot for these accessories and when the Morris is on the road I will concentrate on all the rear fittings. Same with the extra control box , this is a latter 24V type and will need to look how I can modify this to 12V ( maybe a 12V electronic regulator inside the existing one)
  3. Some extra interior work around the radio table. Pto generator regulator in place and the switch board under the table, still need to make the little drawer and the sliding extension under the radio table.
  4. The generator cabinet has a top lid, just need to fit a ginge and also looking how I will fit the loks . The Pyrene fire extinguisher for the radio box is also back on his place, W\|/D type 1950 but a fraction younger then the Morris .
  5. Some extra work on the generator cabinet. Wooden frame ready and now looking to make the front removable panel and the hinging top panel. The remaining openings are covered with metal plates. In the top corner of the cabinet sits a metal shelf to store 2 gallons spare petrol cans, this will be made with the plate work for the sides of the cabinet.

  7. Don't really know , there are so many models around ! The only lead I have is the support frame I have , there need to sit a generator on and there are some fixing points on the frame that holds the generator in place and may it be needed the generator can slide out and placed in a deferent place for from de wireless truck .
  8. There is very little about the generator in the Morris C4 manual . You are right , the remains of the generator is indeed a 1260Watt unit 35Volts
  9. Hello. I measured the space in the generator cabinet and it's 31" long by 21". I have a support frame on loan that came out of the same wireless box and this one fits nice in this place, but what type of generator fits on this frame ? Have the remains of a war time generator but this one is just a fraction to long for the generator cabinet.
  10. Hello . Will measure the available space in the cabinet . Had also a look what the other models of generator can be and if I am right for the 1260Watt you need the extra swith pannel to go from 110 Volt to 12 Volt for the batteries. Regards Guy.
  11. Indeed Niels , to have some ventilation in a static position because it can be very hot inside if the radio's are on and the axillary generator is running to charge the radio battery's .
  12. It's been a while since my last post but we kept busy on the interior of the radio box. Inside received some paint but I think that the colour needs to be just a fraction darker. The woodwork for the cupboard is ready and I need to make the metal shelves, the shelves are at a angle not to spell its contents al over the floor ones on the move. There are also webbing straps in front of each of the shelves. And finally started with the auxiliary generator cabinet. I am still looking witch type of generator so use in these Morris wireless boxes ? The cabinet looks to big to house a chorehorse generator , but maybe I have it wrong and it is well this type of generator ..
  13. The rear door is ready with the little hook to keep the door open . Now the making of the two axillary generator doors for the rear righthand corner will start , these are not so easy to make but will post some updates.
  14. And now we have a rear door in place, made also a start on the cupboard in the left corner of the radio box.

  16. Hello Chris If possible can you sent some pictures of the aerial gear , for this radio stuff is a bit complicated ! Give some plate and wood I will construct a radio box , but the radio installation is black magic and I need to learn a lot abut this and all the combinations makes it really difficult . I will the Aerial lead in front of the cabin ( I so pictures where it is mounted ) and you are right that there is a little black out box inside the cabin . On the picture you can see the little box that I will reproduce for inside the radio box . Regards Guy
  17. Left side looks the business with the board in place, it's start to get cosy inside of the box. Problem will be with the cupboard on left side and the auxiliary generator box on the right side there will be match space taken by this bits. And then all the radio stuff have to find a place 🙄. Looking to fit a metal skin over the wood of the rear door.

  19. In the beginning of this project I made copy's of the wheel boxes that cam with the Morris from France , but now it is clear that these is a difference between the ones on a signals box and a early warning model ( radar setup).
  20. The wheel boxes are almost ready , compare the pictures from the original Morris Box I measured up a few year ago and the reproduced ones. Left side original , and this one sits higher than the right wheel box ? Wats the use of this higher wheel box and the two wooden bits in front of it ? And the right side is not as high and there is a seat mounted on this wheel box .
  21. Here we go , lefthand wheelbox also ready. Next step preparing for primer and paint.
  22. One of the wheel boxes metal is ready, tomorrow we move over to the other side.
  23. Indeed Alex, it's a brass channel that I use. This profile is the closest I can get to the original steel profile. The profile for the side window's is really a complicated form ( see picture) and one part of the window slides open .I will need to solder some different profiles together to get close to the original window frame. Started on the rear wheel boxes, these are a combination of metal plate and a wooden top.
