Nice work, I welded the A frame first on to the new frame and thereafter made some repairs
I was a bit worried that if I repaired the A frame fist that there is was a possibility off bending from the heat of the welding.
That's really a nice workshop you two are working in?

DR boots Ron, size 9. Now Ron the material off these cam plates is really soft and not the right stuff for a cam plate.
When the cam plate brooked it stayed in 4th gear, thank god I was not for from home and had to anticipate a little bit if I was coming to traffic lights.

Hello, as Stefano said I also think that your cam plate is the problem. The original part was made of a very soft material and wears easily out! But the good news is that you can re place it with a steel cam plate from a later Triumph pre-unit gearbox.
Will post a picture of a failed cam plate.

Hello, the replica chassis frame is almost ready. As the original chassis was really bad I did en bother to repair it.
Made a new chassis in the same U profile steel and the only salvageable part was the A frame.
After the frame is ready will supply the chassis and some bits to the sandblasters. The new leaf springs are on order and the side and front metal sheet is also bend and ready for trail fitting .
I still need to find some information about riveting as the sides and re-enforcements are al riveted together, is there anybody on the forum go has some information how this is best don?

Now that the trailer is at my place I made a start on it this afternoon. Took the sides off and the axle came from under the chassis, I don't think that the chassis is worth repairing as it is really in a bad state!
Took al the measurements and will reproduce this completely new. I am looking also what I can do with the leaf springs (can you guess these are also in a terrible state).
So plenty off work for the moment!:nut:

I can see that you had a good start on the trailer Ian and Tom?
On the pictures it is now clear that the side construction is bolted on to the chassis, will these section be repaired are will you rebuild this part with new angle iron and sheet metal.
What is the floor made of original on this type of trailer and how is it fitted?
