  1. Hello, collected this trailer in France yesterday and I am looking for some information on this model.

Is a British war time trailer ? one thing is sure it came from the Belgian army and the construction is very close to a British trailer .

Didn't find a chassis number are identification plate on the trailer and the tires are 7.50x16.

  2. Reconditioned water pump by EP services back in place and the gearbox also back on to the engine.

will also have a bit of work on the radiator duct, think the ventilator came louse in the past and did some damage to the duct.

  3. Is it possible that there is a section of the angle iron missing around the pedals, just have a look on the picture and you just can see a bit of a piece of angle iron?

This was the bit of angle iron that was missing !

  4. Engine back on the chassis, it's really a tight fit to get the engine on its supports. when the front cabin section is in place, there is not match space left between the engine and front section.

And don't forget to put the manifold back on the engine as I did ! If you do there are two solutions, take the engine back out are strip some angle iron on the front bulkhead..:cool2:

  5. Oil filter is in place and the cylinder head back on the engine.

Fitted also the New old stock screened distributor I found on Beaulieu auto jumble last September , the C4 came from France with a radio type distributor but the screened top cover was missing.

Also been at work on the passenger side foot well, had to ad a piece of missing thick metal plate on the back side off the foot well. The L profile used on the bottom off the foot well is off a size that's now longer available so had to cut a piece off U profile that is almost the same size.

Luckily I found a side box, will need to reproduce this one as it is in a bad shape and now can lengthen the supports on the bottom off the side box.

The supports where modified to fit tread plates on the breakdown truck.

  6. Hello, if the steering wheel renovation was done by the same company that did my Bedford QL steering wheel it will start to crack after a few years of use !

    IMG_0469.jpg

Found a good second hand steering wheel for my QL and also for the Morris C4, these wheels are a bit ruff but will go on to the vehicles.

  7. Steering box is back to original specification, the person go sold it to my had the sector shaft re grind and made also new bushes for the steering box housing.

I replaced the tapper bearing and adjusted everything.

Back to original, looks match better than the modified thing that came with the Morris from France.

    Modified French steering box.

And now back to original !

  8. painted some bits for the front of the cabin and reassembled the plate work and some wooden bits that go under the pedals.

The passenger side plate is a temporary fit as the dashboard needs to be fitted first.

Now the big puzzle starts as many bits came in boxes with the Morris C4 from France.

Don't cam fit the rear of the cabin for good as we are making new petrol tanks, I think it is easier to fit these petrol tanks without the cabin over them !

  9. The bonnet came from France in 4 bits and there where some hinges broken.

Repaired the broken hinges and inserted 3 stainless steel rods to keep the bonnet and sides together.

Had also to do some panel beating as there where some nasty dents in these panels.

Repaired hinges and ready for some extra primmer.

  10. Found so extra bits for the Morris C4 , all the bits for the radiator air lock filler and new old stock clutch lining plus a new carbon clutch release bearing .

Have also the right water pump as the one go came with the C4 was something different ?

    IMG_1745.jpg

The water pump that came with the C4, I don't think it is the right pump for this vehicle but for sure it is Morris.

  11. Assembled the plate work on the wooden frame of the cabin, the metal bits are screwed and nailed to the wooden structure.

Before assembly I painted the inside of the metal bits. Now I will have to find out how the cabin rear bulkhead is arranged, there are only two locking clips left after de passenger seat and a lot of holes in the woodwork that must have been there fore some reason.

Always happy to receive some information on this subject, the Morris was a wireless truck so there was some sort off communication set up between the cabin and rear section.

    IMG_1742_1.jpg

Had also a look how the A post are fitted to the floor. Now I have to wait the return from the sandblaster off the metal structure that hold the front of the cabin together and where the wooden A posts and sides of the windscreen are bolted on .

    IMG_1738_1.jpg

And these are the two remaining clips I mention earlier, what is there use ?
