  1. My 24v CJ5 jeep needs a replacement coil. It is a Bosch, serial number 0221112002 (24v). The coil is available from Atkinson Vos for £250 plus VAT but Iwas hoping someone would know where I could get one a lot cheaper. Also, I need new points and a condenser for my Bosch distributor, serial number 0231161002 JFM4. I don't know the part numbers for the points and condenser. Thanks, George
  2. Checked out the website Nick and they have the coil I need for 230 USD but the Bosch points and condenser are not listed.
  3. I have an ex Swiss Army CJ5, built 1970. My Distributor is a Bosch, serial number 0231161002 JFM4. Trying to source a new set of points and condenser is proving difficult. I've contacted a couple of Bosch suppliers without any response and jeep parts suppliers here and the U.S. don't stock Bosch parts. I can only assume the American parts were replaced in Europe. Does anyone know of a supplier? I'm also considering changing over to electronic ignition but the same issues apply, namely a suitable kit to convert it. Any help appreciated. Thanks, George
  4. I have a 24v militarised Swiss army CJ5 that needs new points, condenser and coil. A couple of jeep part suppliers sent me the parts for the M38A1 version but that was wrong. My distributor is made by Bosch and the part number is 0231161002 JFM4. If anyone knows the part numbers for the points and condenser and where I can get them I would really appreciate it. Also the coil is different from other jeep coils I've seen. My coil doesn't have a makers name on it but it does have a serial number stamped on the base and is 0221112002 24v. Looking at photos, my coil looks more like a Unimog coil. Photo of my coil hopefully attached, sorry it's lying down! Any help appreciated. Thanks, George
  5. Sorry, forgot to mention. If anyone needs some info or a scan from the book just ask. George
  6. Just about to be binned by the father in law, was a genuine Rolls Royce operators handbook for Merlin engines MK 22,24,T24 and T24-2 for transport aircraft. It's a revised 1944 copy from 1945. Considering its age, it's complete with all diagrams and stamped with BOAC and British Overseas Airways, Technical Publications Branch. I was only expecting to get some Wilbur Smith books! Just how rare is this book? George.
  7. Well done. They belong to a workmate, passed down from his Grandad, ex ww2 RAF bomber crew.
  8. Yes these are glasses but who used them and when?
  9. Hi. I need 24v fuel gauge and 24v oil gauge for a M38A1 type jeep. Thanks, George
  10. Any idea what sort of tool this is? It might have something to do with post war jeeps but Im not sure
  11. These lamps were fitted to Swiss army CJ5's and M606 jeeps. A bit different from the American version. Got one for sale?
  12. I'm after a pair of forward bow brackets, also call pivet brackets for a M38A1 jeep. New or used. Photo attached of the type I want, its the bracket nearest the seat. Thanks, George
  13. Thanks Gordon. Ive checked out the site but couldnt find one like mine. On another site it says it is a French military bike pump
  14. Very similar to a WW2 type pump but as far as I know it may be post war. Does anyone know the age and who the users may be? Whistlinwolf thinks its from a Lada, I hope he's wrong! Thanks George
  15. Anyone know where I can get a good cover for my M38a1 type jeep?
  16. Queztions answered, defo a Swiss military jeep. Its mine now. Thanks for looking. George
  17. Thanks maurice. Ive sent them an e-mail but as they imported the jeep in 1993, I'm not hopeful of any info. But God loves a tryer! George
  18. Thanks Nick. Ive checked that site out too. The Swiss jeep doesn't appear to have wipers. What sort of set up are they and are they available? Thanks George
  19. Here's one for you. Someone I know is selling his M38A1 but it doesn't look quite right. The petrol filler cap is at the rear, it has a glovebox type hole on the passenger side , the lights aren't right and other bits that don't seem right. The owner states it's 24volt imported from the Netherlands. It has a civvy serial number and not one that starts with MD. The scanned doc shows it imported to the Netherlands from Swizterland and it is a CJ5. Could this be an ex Swiss military jeep? Ive read the Swiss bought CJ5's from the U.S. part militarised so could this be one? Can any one translate this form and does it show any military connection? Thanks, George
  20. Hi Jeremy. Thanks for the info. You seem to be a cooker enthusiast so I'll give you first offer of this cooker. £50 (thats with HMVF member discount) and you arrange collection. All monies received go to my jeep fund! Cheers, George P.S. My cooker looks better than the ebay one!
  21. I saved this cooker from the skip that an old lad was dumping as it was just taking up room. It appears to be new with a bit of surface. Serial number 731099125175, built by Arunfabs Ltd 1993. It has 206/03 engraved on the lid. What is that code, refurbished date? What are these things worth?
  22. This is a Dutch M38A1C. My question is about the rear gap, I thought the edges were straight up and down but this one is sloped sides. Is this correct for the NEKAF version? Also apart from the gun, what else is missing? Thanks.
  23. Im gonna wait til my L1A2 reaches £1000! Shouldn't be long!
