  1. Hi Rick & Richard. Thanks for replying. I've hand painted the jeep handles days ago and they are VERY glossy. The paint I used has a M.O.D. number and description. Here it is:- Paint finishing - Exterior Jerricans - Olive Drab. MOD contract number H1/8010/99224/5479
  2. Hi, Does anyone know how to dull down gloss paint? I've just got some Olive"drab" at a really good price but it is very glossy and I want the matt effect. Any ideas? :dunno:
  3. Hi Mike, have you seen " The unstoppable jeep" film from the History channel. It shows a Autocar tractor unit on the Red Ball Express. It wasn't on for long but it was a soft top showing lots of detail. George
  4. Has anybody got any idea how I can trace my M201's history with the French army? It's first army registration was 2311820 and was sand coloured. Pat Ware's M201 book shows sand coloured jeeps on the production line with registration numbers very close to mine (within 40). It doesn't appear to be a Sahara jeep (but I'm no expert) and it was rebuilt in 1972. Also, if any previous owners have any info it would be really appreciated. U.K. reg ACK 221A Thanks, George
  5. Hi Barry, love the Bedford. Ask Joris if you can have your turn with the dancing girls as I'm worn out. But don't let Jessie the jeep know.
  6. Thanks for the welcome lads ! I contacted RR Services and the waterproofer is £18 for 2.5 Ltrs. That's a smart lookin' RLW Ian2b. I drove those beauts with the T.A. and they were a pleasure to drive, except I always banged my "funny bone " when changing into second. As a boy soldier in the 70's with the R.A. we had a type that had a door fitted on the side of the rear body, what was that for? Anyone any idea?
  7. Trusting soul Steve? Your shallow grave had been dug and I would have stolen your jeep and painted it PINK !!!
  8. Hi everyone, my name is George and I own a Hotchkiss jeep. Just like some of you's, I always wanted one and finally, in my 50's I got one! Mind you, I nearly wavered while waiting for the right one but Steve Carr (aka Stalin) was there putting the pressure on with the assistance of Tim (Whistling wolf). My jeep is a 1963 model, MALT rebuild in May 1972. It has been British airbourned and then Americanised but now I am turning it back to French. I've had some great help by others MV owners like Steve, Tim, Andy Bloxham, Adam Anderson, another Tim and Brian Fox (sounds like an Oscar speech). Apart from a wiper motor set, does anyone know where I can get a coloured dye/waterproofer for my faded canvas?
