  1. All is not lost:D. I lost the use of the shed it was in a few years ago so work ground to a halt. However I do hope to have it under tin very soon. I have a shed for it but it needs a floor putting in. Hopefully it will be under tin before the winter sets in. Watch this space!
  2. Has anyone ever tried to fit 285 85 R16 BF Goodrich onto a ferret. The size is very close to 900x16 but I am not sure it will go onto the split rim?
  3. Great pictures. But this is the wrong limber. This one is much shorter.
  4. I believe the Michelin XL were the tyre that replaced the Dunlop track grip's in the British. You can see them on the fox, RB44 and even land rovers I also fitted Petlas 10.50x16 on my Gun tractor. The project is not finished yet so I cant comment on performance, but they fitted onto the split rim fine and are still inflated.

  6. Didn't take it that way at all, and I know what you mean, it's hard to know what to measure. Are you a regular visitor, I only ask as it might be easer to divide it up into parts and maybe do some drawings or something. Some overall dimensions would be a good start too. Length, hight and depth of the main box. Distance of the shelves from each other. Sizes of the doors too. By all means take as many pictures as you can, they are always a help. I really appreciate all your help Thanks
  7. Fantastic! the more dimensions the better as I an hoping to make a replica for my Morris Quad. Thanks
  8. Fantastic. I dont suppose you could post up some dimensions. Please!!!
  9. I was thinking of getting an RB44 to tow my Ferret to shows. While doing some research I found the ridiculously low 2200kg towing capacity. I can't get my head around why a vehicle that is more powerful, heaver and larger would have a lower towing capacity than a Defender. (A 110 Defender can tow 3500kg). Can the vehicle's performance be enhance to increase it's towing ability. eg; up rate its braking ability? I dont wish to hijack this thread so you can reply on this page. Thanks http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?44825-Towing-casipity-of-a-Reynolds-Boughton-RB44
  10. So does that mean if the trailer is fitted with hydraulic or air brakes the RB can tow it? My questions are more aimed towards the Vehicles ability than the law at this point. If the RB can handle that weight then I can look into what I need to do to make it legal latter. I was concerned that it might damage the vehicle if the load was too heavy I read a bit about the RB's braking problems and thought that might be the reason for the low towing capacity. Can you point me towards the other thread you mentioned please. I wouldn't mind having a look. Thanks
  11. Can anyone clarify for me the towing capacity of a Reynolds Boughton 44 please? I was looking for a medium sized military vehicle that could tow my Ferret to shows and maybe have room in the back to sleep. The RB44 looked perfect but when I did a bit of research I found it could only tow up to 2200kg! Surly this is wrong. the vehicle is much larger and more powerful than a Defender and it is rated at 3500kg's I also considered a Landrover 101 but I think it also has a towing capacity of 3500kg's. The Pinzgaure has a fantastic towing capacity of 5000kg's but are very expensive. Is there a reason the RB44's ability to tow is so poor. It has a powerful enough engine and weighs 3000kg with a load capacity of 2250kg's. Could it be down to it's poor braking history and if so can this be remedied?
  12. Not too much going on hear at the mo. Engine is away getting sandblasted, I fitted the new dash panel and draw bar/hitch. I have bean a bit bogged down with house DIY and servicing my Ferret for the show season. Work will start soon.
  13. I wonder was it upgraded in theatre from a MK1. I only ask as there was a picture of a ferret that was upgraded in Hong Kong in this months issue of CMV mag. The turret plate/ring was welded on. But the parts could have bean salvaged from a British ferret that was destroyed. Its pure speculation of course.
  14. Check out this link that may have proved me wrong. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10154016371990408&set=gm.10152072348682747&type=1&theater
  15. Hi. It would be standard procedure for the new unit to sign for what ever vehicles were there. When I went to Cyprus in 98 we signed for the L200's in use with the UN at that time. As did the Dutch who came with us. It would stand to reason that the Canadians would have done the same. Very unlikely they went to the expanse of bringing there own Ferrets. Of course I could be wrong. There are a lot of pictures of Ferrets in Cyprus on Facebook that clearly show British reg numbers. Are you trying to restore a Canadian or British Ferret. Or are yo making a UN replica?
  16. It looks to be a UN ferret. that might narrow it down a bit.
  17. How did you get a hold of this. Exactly what I am after for my Irish army gun tractor.
  18. I should do, I will have a look next week. Only prob is I am in Ireland.
  19. Will do. Do you own the ex Irish army CDSW featured in CMV?
  20. Any chance of a pic, so I can see if it is the same one that I have? Thanks
  21. Hear are some more up to date pictures of the Quad project.
  22. Fitted the clutch peddle linkage and the brake master cylinder. I also fitted the hand brake linkages.
  23. Work begins on the engine. I have prepared it for sandblasting.
