  1. Ian had two for sale. One has been sold and the other is still available.
  2. I had one clear goal whilst out in Normandy back in June for the 71st commemorations of D-Day and that was to recreate one of my favourite photographs taken during the invasion. It shows paratroopers from the 506th PIR, 101st Airborne towing a M3A4 Handcart with a jeep meeting up with troops coming up from Utah Beach. It gets better as in the background there are two Horsa gliders. After a bit of research, I'd found out that the photograph was taken on the crossroads of the D115 and the D913, inbetween Utah Beach and St. Marie du Mont. So with a bit of traffic management, I manoeuvred my jeep into what I thought was roughly the position and my wife took the shot. When I overlaid the photo over the original, I was amazed at how close we'd gotten it. I hope you like it. Cheers, Neil.
  3. Apart from seeing a few in museums in Europe and the States, I've never seen one here in the UK. How many Clark CA-1 owners are there over here? Neil.
  4. Bugger, renewed just over two weeks ago.
  5. Is the digout happening at Dallas Autoparts tomorrow morning?
  6. The hand cart will always be stored inside apart from on show days and the handle was made for me.
  7. Complete! I'm very pleased with how it's turned out. One thing I noticed whilst stripping the cart was a red ring painted around the two grease nipples of the axles. Considering we were uncovering a lot of original paint, I've assumed the red rings was also original and have re-applied them. Hopefully I can get an A5 drop container soon so I can recreate this scene. Cheers, Neil.
  8. Restoration begins. It's like it's been un-touched for nearly 70 years. All the original hardware is present and the original paint. The extra holes were filled in by a Mig welder.
  9. I bought this hand cart in the States. It's a 1943 John Wood M3A4 utility hand cart and it looks fantastic. No sign of rust and all the original nut and bolts holding everything together. I had considered sand blasting it but on inspection all it needs is paint stripping, a quick sanding to get it smooth and it'll be ready for painting. The rims are in great condition as is the original tyres with no cracking visible. There are extra holes which will be filled by mig welder. Here's a bundle of shots of it. I'll keep updating the thread when progress is made. Cheers, Neil.
  10. I could do with a passenger side Splitty seat too.
  11. Currently at work and can't view the photos so can you tell me what you've got?
  12. Are dogs allowed? Canine variety that is.
  13. Am I ready? Nah, I haven't touched the jeep since coming back from Normandy. I still haven't decided if I'll stay in a good weatherproof 'Go Outdoors' tent or a proper WWII pup tent but rain or shine, I'll be there.
  14. Anybody out there? Jack, stop drinking Costa dry of coffee. Is it all going to plan? Neil.
  15. Looking good. That reminds me of my dad storing bits of his Matchless G3 around the house especially under his bed.
  16. Great pic Ian. I'm sure the photographer won't mind at all.
  17. Yep same here although I'm collecting my bits from Malvern next month.
  18. Now you've just made me want something bigger (Ooh err missus).
  19. The jeep is available and I can squeeze in three in the back and one up front if I don't have a co-driver with me for the weekend.
  20. I believe f marked components remained on GPW's till the end of production. The scripted jeeps ended around mid '42.
  21. I did a search for reports from previous years and it doesn't sound promising. Overlord is on during the weekend I go to Normandy and the national MVT show is on the same weekend that I'm attending A&E. Plain Invasion sounds like a good idea to me now!
  22. Is anybody going to this or has been to previous shows? I've got that weekend off and quite tempted to go. http://www.beaulieu.co.uk/beaulieu-events/trucks-and-troops http://www.adamhill.org/hosting/shmvt/images/TNT 2012 V6 webpagejpg.jpg Neil.
