No discernable ID on this one.

    Painted on front, "K/C 13-4-10R" & "2957" (Auction numbers?)

Heavily overpainted numberplate on rear, appears to be 04 FA 88

At my gaff, near Newark, 8am.

Not felt cold like this since I went skiing at Lake Louise!

Mind you, mild compared to Europe, frozen Danube, snowy pitch for the Italy v England match in Rome, Russia's so cold, their demand for gas has soared, http://oilandenergyinvestor.com/2012/02/energy-crisis-looming-in-the-european-deep-freeze/.

  3. Been a bit around Newark/Grantham the past couple of days, just a dusting. More promised (Threatened?) for later.

Update - half four, it's snowing!

  4. An eclectic mix, some well-known, some not.

This one's the JagdTiger that's in the Aberdeen collection.

The chunk out of the mantle's the clue.

    This one I especially like.

I've often seen Wehrmacht recycled M3 half tracks, but never US recycled Hanomags!

  5. Madness!

But the distance between insanity & genius is very small, or so I have been told!

Anyone who has the vision to turn hundred-weights of hydrated iron oxide into a shiney, living creature, that moves under its own power, has my complete admiration.

  6. It's the USS Intrepid in NY harbour. (Or "harbor" for our US friends!)

Even the Yanks are struggling to maintain these relics, it's unfortunate that we'll never get the visitor numbers to pay for their upkeep.

Having the ship as a diving "reef" will at least keep it from the fate of its sistership.
