  1. Having just culled most of my 60 pattern collection I have had a chap approach me looking for a mint Size 2 60 pattern. Does anyone have one they want to sell? Cheers!
  2. Yes - correct type and size for a 68patt size 9 smock...
  3. Lol! I am not so sure Richard - I think there may be more of an obsessive lurking in your subconcious than you think... There are some really very knowledgeable folks on the forum - many of whom have forgotten more than I will ever know!
  4. Welcome Richard- didn't think we would see you over here...;-) Would be great to see a few more pics from your collections.
  5. What I do not recall ever seeing Steve is the matching liner in old sizing.... The old sized temperate vest is common and there are a few examples of the artic smock liner around (I posted photos of one a few weeks ago) but the specific liner for the parka I have not seen....
  6. This is great - I love the last paragraph - getting out of a landy on exercise in a 'Ladylike way'!!! Only in the British Army eh?!
  7. Some nice picks there! I do like the US desert patterns....
  8. Paul - would love to see some photos of these items if you get a chance....
  9. Hmmm - you do have a bit of a 'penchant' for womens hats Mark.....
  10. Martin - I think they still exist but not the same form as you will remember them!
  11. Carrying the correct NSN for the SAS windproof (and corresponding size) but made by Survival Aids - it is a commercial version of the calssic SAS smock. Has a front and rear rank tabs and FFD pocket.
  12. Yes - vest issued also! Thinking about it now it may well have been the vests for the temperate 68 pattern and the full sleeve liner for the Arctic Smock. I think the vests work on the same (old) sizing as the full sleeve liners.
  13. There are two sizes of hood - size 1 for smock sizes 1,2,4,5 & 7 and size 2 for 3,6,8 and 9. Size 1 are pretty common - size 2 much less so. In terms of liners - old sizing runs from 1-5, new metric sizing is in the 180 (height) and 104 (chest) which is easier to work out. Old sizing 1 is c.170/96 metric to size 5 which is 190/120. Btw - these liners are not button in - I think on the experimental 68 pattern smocks this was trialed however production jackets ran with liners that are essentially separate. Worked example: Size 9 smock needs size 2 hood and size 5 liner (190/120) They look like this:
  14. As much as it pains me Dave....I understand. Tell me once the transaction is completed and I will mount a midnight raid on Steve's farm stash!
  15. Steve - I have been 'purging' my collection for some time now. Really no point in multiple items unless there is a good reason... Drop me a note once you have catalogued and we can see if there is a swap in the offing!
  16. Great finds Steve - we must be able to get a few photos whilst you have them to hand!
  17. Welcome back Jon - have not heard from you in a while!
  18. Thought I had seen some pictures somewhere!! http://iacmc.forumotion.com/t4733-parkamanscold-weather-aka-falklands-parka?highlight=British+cold+weather+parka
  19. I don't have an example Steve but they do exist. I remember seeing one on eBay about 2 years ago but they are few and far between and I think must have gone metric very soon after introduction.
  20. Thanks for that. Not seen that designation before - perhaps this in an earlier example of the Smock?
  21. Don't think they are that rare. Modern sized versions come up quite regularly on Ebay. Ventile and very nicely made. Look for 'Royal Navy Windproof Smock'
  22. Nice example of a Royal Navy windproof. Anyone have any background to these or what N.S.R. stands for?
  23. Had a few bits of kit arrive today in what I thought would be a modern kit bag. Was a bit surpirsed to see what turned up. Particularly like the string tie!
  24. Steve - based on your tipoff I purchased a pair a year or so ago now. The seller on Ebay has, as you say, a couple of pairs of nice size 5 examples. You do not often seem them come up. I wonder if there was a similar smock liner? Strangely enough I paid a visit to Surplus and Outdoors over the weekend. Good shop but like most surplus stores these days the shop floor is full of CS95 gear and they have to rumage around in the depths of the stores to find the older gear! That is where I picked up the trousers that are the subject of this thread.
