  1. Yes I was Mike. I wouldnt even entertain the idea of the one with the saggy bottom. Im waiting on some more detailed pics today of the green one. Theyre not too far away from me.

  2. Took delivery of it today, I cant believe what a good buy it was. Had it up on the ramp for an MOT corrosion inspection and the under side is as solid as the day it was made. All it will need for an MOT is a brake master cylinder and a couple of front indicators! Everything else is fine, never been out of the yard since it was released! Just got to get it verified to register it, put the master cylinder on it, MOT it and we'll be ready for the road. Paintwork is all flaking off anyway revealing its various paint jobs!

Im a very happy bunny!! :-D

  3. Yes it is an early one as G506 said, more than likely from Dunkirk. There are plenty examples of this, a common modification was to put a new windscreen surround on as this one. Instead of the lift up flap they replaced it with one that completely folded down. Probably a good bit of design as even with the lift up flaps on the allied ones it still got bloody hot in the cab!

  4. I didnt realise you could get all that info from Bovvy! I take it they only keep that sort of info for armoured stuff? Did you have to pay for all that info?

I would be interested to find out what was special about the first 2 that were adapted for the RA, the bit that has a line through. Nice lot Steve, I can imagine what you will be doing tonight...

  5. Are you sure its glossy just because its wet? I would test a bit and see what finish it is when dry. You could try and dulling it down with talc or chalk, very hit and miss though.

  6. Need urgent help. The transport company who were bringing my Series 3 ambulance down today have told me they arent actually bringing it down today as their lorry is in Spain. B******s! I need to get urgent transport but need to know the unladen weight of it, as its heavier than standard car.

    Thanks in advance

  7. I suppose the term comfort when applied to Landrovers means- Yes you can sleep in the back and stretch out.

Waiting for delivery of the big green shoebox, coming down from York today, I hope its not too bad, I know its gonna need outriggers, so if anyone has a contact I would be grateful, Im not well up on LR suppliers.
