  2. Hi Matt, I shipped some stuff from Seattle. Used BAX GLOBAL (020 8899 3000) They were very reasonable in 2003. However the best deals are done on "Make Weights" and must be arranged from the sending end. I also believe freight cost have changed since then because of fuel etc. Its worth a shot. Karoshi
  3. Richard I'd like to know that too. Good question.

    DPM?

As Polecat is away enjoying his self, I'll have to have a pop at this and he can correct me when he gets back. The first DPM (Disruptive Pattern Material) on issue was the Ist Pattern Denison Smock introduced in 1942. It was principally issued to covert operators in the SOE and SAS, later being adopted by the Commandos. 1st Pattern DPM Denison: Karoshi
  5. Jack I'd love to, but where will me be by then? I may have to make alternate arrangements as I'm expecting to bring 2 or 3 British Commandos with me if things work out. So unless you have a barn or something I don't think it’s a goer, as much as I'd like to. Oddball will be looking for a pit too, and he's 50 miles further on than me, and if Bigredone checks the details, well who knows.
  6. Andy Carter is your man, have a look at his webby at; http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/jeep_man/ perhaps drop him an e-mail. I'm sure he'll help. Karoshi
  7. Berni, how about a picture of you in your ATS uniform? Maddy's looking for a theme. Can you give her some help on costs/comfort/practicability that sort of thing. Be much appreciated. Dad

  11. Paul, I could pick you up on the way, and convoy. Hell I'll tow you if it helps. Introducing it to ONE new county won't hurt it. Karoshi
  12. I guess the proper answer is NO. But the practical answer is I did it and it hasn't fallen off in 5 years. Prime any bare metal though, if you rub thro' Karoshi
  13. No mission too difficult, No sacrifice too great, Duty first. ? Karoshi
  14. I took a quick peak at your webby, very impressed. Now Berni will have someone else to share an interest in her "GMC". I'll let Berni explain! Karoshi
  15. Jack anywhere we long distance haulers can stop-up for the night if we travel saturday? Poole for 0900 UTC makes a l.o.n.g. day. Karoshi

  18. Such any easy mistake to make. I first stayed there just at the end of the Falklands Campaign, not allowed to say WAR, as it wasn't official. The guys camping next to us wore "T" shirts with: WE,VE GOT THE BIGGEST CHOPPERS IN THE SOUTH ATLANTIC on their backs. On the front in very small letters it said: **** Squadron--Chinook Been there several times since. More recently been staying in Port en Bessin. http://www.camping-portland.com/indexuk/indexuk.html Karoshi
  19. Can't manage the words Jack?
  20. Ah the pool at Chateux Martragny, the imposing drive, the 16th century Chateau, the inner court-yard with the ducks, ......its as if it were yesterday. How about a HMVF week then Jack? Be sure to book space at the back rather than the front drive! Its nearer the bar! Karoshi

  23. and did you notice how the Sherman models change. When the infantry (35th) mount the tanks for the drive thro' the villages the Sherman model continuity is dreadful........ and check the sums on those gold bars, they don't add up! Karoshi
  24. Well when the chips are down Lloyd, its battlefield engineering. Forget the captive nuts, and make with the drill! You're gonna go bold! Sorry mate, I know thats not what you wanted to hear. Clamp it up where it looks right, and redrill. Karoshi
