  1. hmm what a funny gang ... it is ok to be funny as long as it is not me who is getting it.. ;-) Well its not my laundry hanging there, I live just 200 Yards from the site, so I go home and change my "crackers"... So it is time you guys starts thinking of a holliday in Norway, so you can see for your selves. It is not the bigges meeting in the world, but we usually have 50+ vehicles at the meeting. And if someone is comming ower, I will help out so you can see as much as possible when here. Have many ideas for you. And you can stay longer at the meeting if you want to, no problems. But the "best" thing to do, is to come asore in Stavanger, see the sites there for a couple of days, then drive up north to the meeting, stay there in the week-end, and then on to the deep fjords of Hardanger, and ending in Bergen where you can get on the ferry back home. Rolf
  2. The annual meeting in western Norway, "Western Front Meeting" is to take place on June 27th to June 29th. It is very easy to come to this meeting with the ferry from Newcastle. And if anyone would like to have a nice holliday in Norway, PM or e-mail me, and I can help you put up a plan so you can see both the nature and military sights. A roundtrip in western Norway for abouth a week will get you to many interesting places. Photo below is part of the meeting in 2003 Rolf http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/320/im000154ww6.jpg[/img]
  3. In Norway we are learne that you should go downhill in at least the same gear as you need to go up. Or a lower gear, but never a higher. So if your truck is empty, you drive uphill in say 3rd, then you can go down in 3rd. If loaded you perhaps need to go to 2nd uphill. So to be able to brake the load downhill, you should use 2nd. And never trust the brakes alone. But then we have real up and down hills here... I think I read some place that the US GI also called it "mexican overdrive" if you put it in neutral of push in the clutch going down hill. And that should tell the most (No negative on the mexican people from my side thoe!)..... Rolf
  4. My two cents.... The broken or the solid ring arround the stars I think just was depending on if they used a stencil or not. A stencil when applying the paint needs to "hold on to" the rest, therefore it was broken. Have seen pictures of both types on US, English and Canadian vehicles. Also a few that had the star "broken". Don't think a pilot passing by would notise if the ring was broken or not, unless it was really big gaps betweene... And if you was to refresh the markings in the field you seldom had a stencil, so you just brushed away in a hurry so you could have your cup of tea me was thinking :-) Rolf
  5. Take a look ! http://RolfSAsk.mypicgallery.com/Military/1-4-annonse-engelsk-web_large.jpg[/img]
  6. You do not need to be in the arena to get a desent photo out of it... Spent some houres alongside, and have some good photos. But also spent many houres out in the fields from 6 am to late night making photos... Chers Rolf BTW: Had one of Johns Morris and have sent a high res to him. http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/3104/arenareduced02ob6.jpg[/img] http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/8349/arenareducedvt7.jpg[/img]
  7. To get the parts back would not be the biggest problem. The bankmanager is another problem... You can have mine for free :-) I guess the easiest way to get parts over, and saving you all a lot of money is to get together and do as Rick suggests. I will then pack parts in an europall with sides and ship them all in one batch. The you also will be able to get heavier parts like complete roadsprings. I know it is not many needing them, so they go for 25 euros each. I think they are all wit bushings. There is also one crate with a NOS winchwire there if anyone having a FAT needing one... It is heavy!! There is some family gatherings due to the Eastern Holliday, but do hope I will have completed the pricelist tomorrow or the next day. At least prices for what I think is the parts most wanted. Chers Rolf http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/3527/delerredusertoe3.jpg[/img]
  8. why don't ya all take a holliday in Norway?? Just need the ferry from Newcastle to Haugesund, then 100 km driv and you are all here. We have our MV-meeting in the week-end betweene 29. June and 2. July. Then you can also visit a few good museums and see some very interesting places. Rolf
  9. Pricelist... Not easey to do a price list. I do hope I am able to get back what I payed. But I am also a bit worry to price them to high.... Not my meaning to make a lot of money on this. The point is to get MCC's bak on the road. I will be working on the price list as fast as I can. I think a set of pistons complete with rings and bearing (4 cyl engine) will be 220 Euros. Waterpumps: I only have two of them and they are not alike. Will take some photos later today. There are vast numbers of roadsprings that seems NOS. Any idea on price of them? They will be cheap from me, but sending cost will be high and that is not because of me. An idea would be to send a bulk of them over to someone in England. There are plenty of bushings for springs there. I have managed to get all the parts that are in card boxes up on shelves, so I am getting there. But there is at least one cubick metre with parts not in boxes. There is no bodyparts. i.e. no windshield parts, no instruments, no wings, and so on. Only parts for engine, gearbox and axles/springs. No brakecylinders, but many brakelinings and complet brakeshoes with linings (also brakshoes without linings) So brakeshoelinings is priced to 140 euros a set (both axles). There are also main bearings but need to take a closer look. And remember, the psitons is from +.020 to +.60 so need to know what you want. Same with main bearings, they varie in + size. Also want to state that I am not going to sell vast to one persone. You will be able to buy what you need for your truck. So no dealers will get their hand on the lot. The parts is for collerctors/owners of MCC. Will be back! Rolf
  10. Can't help you with the licence plate, but if you have problems post pictures you can mail them to me and I'll put them out here for you.. mail to : cmpnorge at online.no Chers Rolf
  11. Also notice the jeep out in the road. The spare is placed on the same place. I recon they moved the spare wheel whereever they found it best, when fitting the jeep with equipment needed. Here is a few more.. and don't forget all those jeeps with the spare tyre up front Rolf A recon jeep of the 30th Infantry Division. http://img459.imageshack.us/img459/5219/areconjeepofthe30thinfafp6.jpg[/img] http://img459.imageshack.us/img459/7130/ajeepwheelsidemounted01wf6.jpg[/img] http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/5995/ajeepwheelsidemounted02hv2.jpg[/img] http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/2467/slatgrillambulancedf7.jpg[/img]
  12. As far as i know (correct me please) the first Diamond T delivered to US Army during WW II was the Diamond T 967 (1940/41). But also the Diamond T 980 (and 981) was delivered very early in 1940/41. Then there is all those others, like 968, 968A, 968B, 969 (wrecker), 972 (dump) and 975 (A) (the long one) Were there any system in the seequence of those numbers? Did the numbers follow the delivery seequence? And when were the first ones of each model delivered? Anyone having a list of serialnumbers/delivery dates? Any kind of info most welcome! Any place sheeding some more light on this? Chers Rolf
  13. There is a crate with some hoses among the parts I have bought, but have not looked at them yet. But it seems to be radiatorhoses.... Do not know the quality on them thoe. Will be back with more info as soon as I get the parts home, hopefully by the week-end. Rolf
  14. You are right. They will start with LV/7 MM/ML/WY and then the part number. The LV/7 is for vehicle group, and as far as I know, MM is for Moris Ten, ML for MCC and WY is for Wolsey. On many of the parts I have got, there is all three prefix'es but also on many parts, there is only ML. So I guess some parts are interchangable. But hey, correct me someone if I am far of.... Rolf Like this: http://img460.imageshack.us/img460/8547/c40842rj1.jpg[/img]
  15. For the 4 cyl engine it is V.1061 and the 6 cyl engine it is OA.10381 Rolf
  16. What do you mean with MVT? And don't be sorry if it is not for you :-) There is always enough web-sites to look at and for sure we all learn a lot from them.. Just tought someone could have an interest "talking" to eachother from time to time. Rolf
  17. Well all that I have learned in the Years before computers and internet, was by talking to people... Perhaps that has changed so much that no one is longer able to learn without having their PC at hand.. The meaning of a chat was "just to meet" other MV-enthusiast and chat about everything related to our hobby. So next time I go to a MV-meeting I better make sure I can tape all that is said and done there, or I will forgett it ;-) Well the offer stands, so you are free to use it or not... it was only meant as a supplemetn to all the very interesting forums arround. I agree they are a huge source of information that we need to keep filling with our knowlegde. Rolf
  18. Here is a place I have made where you can chat "live" with other MV-entusiasts... There is only one room, so there is no place for etrotic chat and so on. Just HMV-chat Go to http://pub49.bravenet.com/chat/show.php/4131876749 and see if anyone else is there. There is no registration requiered, and nothing is saved anywhere. Chers Rolf
  19. Forgot to check out numbers on those radiators. They are not for MCC, perhaps Morris Ten or Austin Ten. This is a radiator for my MCC since the one I have is rather bad... The second photo shows the same three as last, but you can also see yet another one. Anyone who can tell what they are made for? Rolf http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/2535/radiatorxk3.jpg[/img] http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/1879/radiator2hz2.jpg[/img]
  20. Ever seen one like this before?? This is what I call NOS part :-D Oh.. the engine is in there.. I did not take a to close look but it seems as all interial parts are in place, missing the top, generator, starter. And also found out abouth those big filters. They are for the aircompressor mounted in the back. It is supposed to be two in a truck as far as I know. One in use and one stored betweene the seats. They go for 40 pound each. I have not got the parts home yet, but guess I will have the lists compleeted in a few days including prices. Rolf http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/9480/enginecratedeg6.jpg[/img]
  21. No have not found any LV7/NC..... yet... And NC stands for what ?? :? Rolf
  22. Well I think I just have to wait until I get the parts home and sort them out propperly. The photo of the engine was taken 15 feets up in a wobbly bobbly ladder... and I served at a submarine and do not like the hights on a ladder... So then I got both Hillman and Austin 10 parts... hm... anyone having a project of one or the other for sale :-) Rolf
  23. once again thanks Richard! The number I have got on the engine is : P653 50C Don't know if it is a serialnumber for the engine.. Some other partnumbers together with this: LV7/MM QA.10762 Engine Valve LV7/MM X.22050 Engine Packing (small) for water pump LV7/MM X.22548 Engine Valve inlet LV7/MM X.2255 Engine Valve guide exhaust LV7/MM X.22550 Engine Valve exhaust LV7/MM X.22551 Engine Valve guide exhaust LV7/MM X.22802 Engine Gasket for carburator LV7/MM X.22919 Engine Spring for valve 63-149 Gearbox Clutch + Gearbox casings Steering Steering arm LV7/MM 1681 Cotter axle swivel pin LV7/MM 10347 Stud nut LV7/MM 35346 Nut lock washer Do they tell you anything? I have not been able to put them into any MCC parts, nor Austin Ten parts. Have not found any numbers with LV7/HL Chers Rolf
  24. Thanks Richard!! I do not have any photos of a compressor showing the filters.. Rolf
  25. Could this be a Hillman 10 HP engine?? Looks like side vent, and no other "tilly" came with side vent engine, or did they? Anyone have Part number for tilly engines? Rolf http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/1074/hillmanenginegd4.jpg[/img]
