  1. Very nice "Toasts rack". I remember it from another forum, a few years ago. He was an inspiration for me to find their own Rover 8 FFR. Jarda
  2. Hi Andy I think Praga V3S only served in the Czechoslovak army and the UN. There was a version: Praga V3S POP (mobile dressing medical room) and Praga V3S X-ray. 3. Wayne, Interesting, I found the DBG in the same place - the front of the chassis. I looked into the LR Series IIA book, written by James Taylor "Were always Chassis frames painted in Gloss Black" Jarda
  4. Hi, sorry for the question. I found the repair chassis in some places deep bronze green. I thought that the standard color of the chassis is glossy black. At Merlin's the rear crossmember is to see the rest of the DBG. Do you know what the correct color for Rover 8 Chassis ? Thanks Jarda
  5. hello Wayne, Yes, very busy, I have offered 14 days holiday and every other weekend.
  6. Your Rover 8 FFR 1964 looks beautiful. I've already forgotten how it looks, because all summer I've repaired chassis. My chassis after the first layer primer and Rover 8 before restoration. Unfortunately, most of the 40 amp. equipment is lost. Jarda
  7. Brooky and Ruxi, thanks for the reply. I check the engine's cylinder head according to the instructions ... At the head is cast number 568750 Regads Jarda
  8. Hi all, I have a question about the compression ratio of engines for military Land Rovers. I guess civil engines have ratio of series 2a / cr 7:1 , Series 3 Prefix 901 / 8:1 ratio and Series 3 prefix 904 / ratio 7:1 How is the engine FFR: series 2a/40 amp, series 2a/90 amp and series3 / 90 amp? I have a feeling that they used the same spark plugs and therefore could have all the ratio 8:1 but in the User's handbook 18358 for rover 8/9 I found 7:1 cr. Thank you very much for your answers. Jarda
  9. Hi Wayne, Thank you very much for your photos. Rear bracket of the generator is part of the body oil filler, exactly what I wanted to see. The mystery is solved. I have a parts catalog rover8 on CD, but the illustration shows only standart oil filler. I already have a top and front bracket. Cheers Jarda
  10. Thanks everyone for the welcome to the club EK owners:D Here are some pics before the renovation off the chassis, bulkheads, engine and other ...but I like the "patina" Chester Jarda
  11. Hello from Prague (Czech republic) my name is Jarda and I am interested in everything about military Land Rovers. I'm about a year the owner of Rover 8 FFR no. 62 EK 67, served with the 2nd Batalion of the Coldstreem Guards in Northern Ireland, because I could not resist the charms of the "toast rack". My goal is the restoration and re-conversion to 24V 40amp, which is not easy, because the engine 2.25 petrol 3m.b. is not original and the parts are often unavailable, but I don 't loose faith. I hit this page and found that there is a lot of interesting information and I hope you will sometimes be useful. Hello all and sorry for my English. Chester jarda
