In the Lightweight Owners club forum a few have done it.
There was a kit available for series vehicles and another was from Iran which is for various reasons hard to get now

Still trying to get the cab out of France. The local guy who is helping me arrived on the day arranged to load it up and the staff were not available. They said come back at the end of August so here's hoping he can have a win.
He did manage to grab some parts of the sand coloured one including:
- different Acmat badge, which is used on the rear of platform trays
- spare brake boosters
- correct washer bottle
- spare steps
- rear light guards

Another modern one

It is amazing how technology is changing to save money by reducing waste material or reducing production time.
I have a sample on my desk and it doesnt look that glamourous i.e. a simple machining job. But the original core piece is made of 3 blocks friction welded together so the machining required is minimised.

I know they have metal sprayed 3d shapes similar to 3d printing. The one I saw was they printed a metal golf ball.
But the material is very porous, but got me thinking that Star Trek is nearly here whereby you can ask the computer to "make" you something
this is also interesting as you cannot see the laser but you see the effects

Only one head light was fitted after a certain date to all British MV's so if it left a convenient place to mount the Bridging Plate it was very common.
why did this come about, a lack of light bulbs?

From a safety angle, have you considered using the the thicker drums as a pattern and having new drums cast. I do not know what the process is called to check for cracks (magna flux?) but I might recommend that be done on these drums if you decide to use them.
As always, your crew does superb work.
John G
There are a couple of NDT methods to do this. Magnaflux is a brand but the method is called MT (Magnetic Testing) or MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspection). I started a thread on this ages ago as it is not that hard to do. http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?16151-Ndt&highlight=destructive
PT and penetrant testing also shown in the link above is an easy option also. As you guys like it old school you could try soaking it in auto trans fluid, wipe clean then dust with some type of white dust powder :-D. Times like this I wish I was in the UK as I would come around and do it for a beer :-D

I just saw this on the company website as I was digging for something else http://www.twi-global.com/news-events/case-studies/innovative-additive-laser-repair-technology-used-in-restoration-of-iconic-ww2-spitfire-aircraft-557/

Lots of things have Phasers, fairly common engines, including some late AWD built Bedfords, Dennis, Alvis, Renault, Reynolds Boughton etc etc. I think the 6 cylinder, or one of them, is the retrofit power unit for the FV600 and CVR(T). Nice engines.
Most of the mod applications are 4 cylinder, RB 44 definitely. I will dig into Dennis and the AWD leads as only interested in exmod one.
I thought the FV and CV were 4 cylinder also or was there a later 6 cylinder version? As you see plenty of 4 pots on modsales but the 6 pots are less common

Hi fatboy, just found your thread today and I've been trying to message you I'm the guilty party that bought the Humber, I feel guilty now! but in my defence it is rustier than it looks, the roof has nearly separated around the gutter due to someone's past body filler repair, the driver side step has fallen off due to the sill being non existent, it has a landrover tail gate, a dodgy repair to the cargo floor, its rusted through along the cargo body on top of the bins and someone has tried to bodge the wiring, ( I'm trying to justify it by saying I've saved you)!but its better than the cargo version I was going to restore, ok that explains it better!
Keep looking you will find one, always buy the one with the best body you can the mechanicals and electrics are easy. The Pig is easier to restore but the soft skin is more drivable more stylish and way cooler! ( that will start a debate) haha .
now we are waiting for the restoration thread

this one is definitely set up for a vehicle but would be nice to narrow down as I would have liked to have got this one.
So curious if common or not going to see another in the near future also if fitted to a vehicle what box they had behind it.
I never saw the sold prices from the last tender
-
This 6 cylinder turbo one was on the last tender, not sure what it sold for
.
Curious any ideas what they are fitted to?

That is so awesome.
Any idea if the people that made the replica will be making any more?
Cheers,
Terry
They sell goliath replicas, so I assumed you could buy the tankettes also. I never picked up a brochure, should of I guess as would be curious if can get kits or plans etc.
Anyone got a brochure r website?

I was pondering all the Thornycraft and Dennis trucks sent out to Australia and New Zealand.
Then I remembered a fire truck in my parents town, Kalgoorlie. After a quick search I found this.

I will scan them properly tomorrow

Oi you lot, I resemble these accusations *hic*

Great news
Glad to hear he's home safe but just goes to show how dangerous the world is at present.Yep it is very sad that we think we are becoming more civilized but the world is going backwards more and more..... very depressing

I love the old UK built machines as with a bit of care last forever.

Glad I could get there to take photos. There was a lot more to see but was too much area to cover.
Just about to fly out on a mas flight back so I am guessing it will be a sombre flight

About 30ft away from a very tall Dutch erection with two corner reflectors and a Dutch flag in H Jones field
I saw a lot of tall blokes but I think this is Clive's "Dutch Erection"
