  1. Hi, I've bought a couple of bits from Bob,hes always been very helpful and willing to help.
  2. Hi, If you go to coalhouse fort in essex you will see a couple of film stars that appeared in the new batman film, they are a bedford QL and a WOT 6! The first 3 mins of the film where filmed there,it was the prison camp in which he was imprisoned.also the steel barriers which are actually MDF. They are on the website:http://www.coalhousefort.co.uk
  3. hi all, i took my saracen to an event and had the same sort of thing happen to me.a chap walked past shouting you shouldn't have that on it it should be this.he was refering to my bren gun on the anti aircraft ring, but before i could explain i haven't got a 1000 pound to pay for a gpmg or 7.62 lmg, he stormed off.this really angers me as these people don't usually have a vehicle but are quite willing to critasize without finding out the story first.but anyway my saracen was in service in the 50's to 70's so it once wore a .303 bren gun! most people are willing to chat and tell stories about our vehicles so this out weighs the others so i have alot of time for these people.
  4. last sunday i went to take my saracen out for a test drive but didn't get very far,so we towed it back done some tinkering still no joy.so we tried to get it in the fort which i store it ,not an easy task as the gate it has to go through is about 4 inches wider than the saracen so back and forth it went with no power steering and very little brakes.after a lot of pushing and pulling we finally got it through the gate.all this time i was turning it over now and then to try and get some pressure in the brakes but it never started.we were just about to park in the middle of the parade square get out , go home come back next week so on,i thought i give it another go,so i did and yes it started!!!!!!!anyway i was called a few choice names.all this fun due to a blocked tank vent which caused the fuel tank to vacum hence no fuel and over 2 hours of breakdown fun.so better luck next time!
  5. all true alien, all true
  6. my breakdown was me being lazy,i didn't drain the fuel tank when i got it and it sucked up some silt.anyway 2 buckets of silt later and the fuel tank is now clean!!!!!!!!
  7. just a few pointers, you will need a very trusty friend as visability is terrible too the rear and sides. if the engine stalls you lose brakes and steering, but they are great fun to drive and they make a lovely sound going down the road vroom vroom!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Hi all Isn't it funny when it all goes BREAKDOWN.as all things mechanical will breakdown its best to have friends who stay and block the road with you as a few of us have found out, firstly it was me in my saracen and then it was a mates ferret.i must admit you do get some funny looks and even funnier suggestions, but its all the fun of the fair!!!!!!!!!
