  1. Just interested to know if anyone has ever had the experence of being asked to show their OGEL Licence when taking their MV overseas since its introduction? I never have with my Jeep and am contemplating whether or not to bother for my Bedford this year?? Thanks Richard
  2. Guys, What was the correct "Wartime" colour for an MW Intake manifold? Is it black?? Thanks Richard
  3. I've set at 40, seems to handle much better. Should I reduce to 25 then??
  4. Guys, Can someone urgently advise correct tyre pressure for 900x16 Dunlop Trackgrip on a Bedford MW please? Searched my manuals but don't seem to be in there??? Thanks Richard
  5. Thanks guys. The wiring wasn't as difficult as I anticipated. Providing you have a good wiring diagram and buy a decent loom you should have no issues. I took my time and treble checked everything I done which paid off with everything working as it should first time. Next jobs are to fit two replacement trackgrip tyres to the rears then replace the passenger side glass. That will leave fitting the correct manifold/Carb set up and repairing fuel tank number 2. The jobs seem endless but hopefully by May I will have an MW ready for France in June
  6. Sorry to hear that Tony. Yes, with last years tragedy in mind I decided to go as small as I could without any compromise on safety! As an added original feature I have now secured the correct tiny stop and tail lamps so will fit and connect them as a additional feature.
  7. This is what i went with in the end. By armyspecial at 2012-04-06 By armyspecial at 2012-04-06

  10. Anyone know/use an MV friendly MOT station in the Suffolk/Cambridgeshre area?
  11. Ok, thanks. I will check my V5 to see if the weight is shown.
  12. Ok, so if a MOT is required, do i need to go to a HGV testing station? Also, on the form for tax exception on the DVLA website, there does not seem to be a catagory that covers my vehicle?
  13. Guys, Can someone please answer this for me?? I own a Bedford MW. Some say its needs an MOT, other say it doesnt?? I have read several posts on the MOT subject but am still none the wiser?? DO I NEED AN MOT???..........
  14. Hi Richard, Yes i know but dont want to go back to the Vacuum system really. If i use an in-line fuse, is there a connection on the back of the switch i could take the feed from? Cheers Richard
  15. Guys, I need to know the correct size (diameter and length) of the rubber tube that joins the air cleaner metal pipework to the top of the Solex Carb on a Bedford MW. It currenty has a post war Zenith carb fitted with some sort of home made reducer so that it fits, so i assume the opening on the Solex Carb is bigger the the Zenith?? Thanks Richard
  16. Guys, I want to (if possible) run a live feed from my Lucas light switch to the electric wipers on my MW. Previously, the feed was fed all the way back to the Fuse box, but there are several unused terminals on the back of the light switch, so surely one can be used for this purpose? This is the switch unit i'm refering to. Thanks Richard By armyspecial at 2012-04-02
  17. Guy / Ron, Nice of you to help each other out on my post!! Adrain, yes, i could do with a couple of those for my Bedford if you have a couple you would sell? Still need the correct Diff lamp. I will contact John Morter to see if he still has some. Richard
  18. I went through this with my Jeep Springs. You will need to replace the leaf as they cannot be welded. Brost in Holloway London are the experts.
  19. Hi Pete, Just found an older post on Trailer plugs and your right! I just assumed it was something to do with the rear diff lamp as its positioned near the switch. Nice additional feature to have on the Bedford then? Does anyone have a photo of a correct rear diff lamp please? Thanks Richard
  20. Guys, In the process of connecting up my rear diff lamp and switch but something seems odd about the lamp itself? Instead of having a cable entry one end and a bulb entry the other, it seems to have a double fillament bulb connection both ends?? One side has a bakerlite? Cap, the other what looks like what would direct the beam of light to the diff, but no means of holding a bulb?? Bracket is stamped JWD-T.C.1 Clearly its not the correct part,so what is it? Does anyone have details/photos of a correct diff lamp. Thanks Richard By armyspecial at 2012-03-31 By armyspecial at 2012-03-31 By armyspecial at 2012-03-31 By armyspecial at 2012-03-31
  21. Finally found whats been the hardest MV part i've ever searched for.......an MW Exhaust Manifold. Needs some work but will be good to get the engine back to Military spec again. Wiring Loom finished and the new rear lights are fitted. I will take some photos this weekend and post. She's almost ready for the show season.....cant wait! By armyspecial at 2012-03-30
  22. I'm probably looking at this through my OD tinted glasses, but was given this block and tackle recently for my workshop and the plate on its reads LTE BA 77. Does this stand for Light battery, so maybe lifting equipment used on or near an Ack Ack station? Over to you guys. By armyspecial at 2012-03-27 By armyspecial at 2012-03-27
  23. Finished today and everything worked first time so very pleased. Just got to fit the new rear lights then I will add some photos to my "Bedford MW" post.
  24. I need that badge off the grill
  25. Hi, Currently fitting a new wiring loom to my Bedford MW. The now loom does not come with the links needed behind the instrument panel and i'm nervious about not using the correct Ampage wire for the feeds. Can anyone advise what i should use on the following; Ammeter to A terminal on light switch unit. Live inspection lamp socket to panel lamp switch. Thanks Richard
