Ok another update, some of you may remember Stuart & Suzy & their field kitchen at the Gunpowder Mills last year & the superb grub they cooked for the masses, well it has just been confirmed that they are bringing their kitchen to our event & we will be providing an evening meal (free of charge) for all the MV owners/re-enactors o the Saturday evening, vegetarian option for those that want it.
-
Looks good Ray, why not bring it to our show...

Lee,
That's a different system to the one in the Fox, however it does work on the same principle. When I was looking for an electronic ignition module for the Fox they were of no help. I know someone who has since been quoted a huge ammount for a replacement module. I found a brand new one on ebay for £5
Chris
Still looking for a spare module just in case, How's the Fox doing??
-
Or try these http://www.denaploy.co.uk/autocar/igntion.html
I think it's a Lumenition system that's fitted to the Fox CVR(W)
Their home page http://www.denaploy.co.uk/autocar/index.html

John,
you forgot to mention the bullet holes, see photo nearside front..
-
That looks good Lee, have you tried one on your vehicle :?:
Nope, the Fox has electronic ignition & apart from having to put in a new condensor the Ferret always starts first time, no point in changing something that still works..
-
Its for the door of my pig, should have "confidential telephone and the number"
how much would you charge to make a stencil and post? or could i meet you at overlord?
Dend me a pm with exactly what you want cut & how you want it laid out, let me know your address & it's done.
-
I saw that Maplin module & submitted some questions a week or so ago for their FAQs. Asking about 24v & 6-cyl with 2 sets of points. But had no response.
I suspect they are still scratching their heads on that one, you could try Vellemans who make the kits for Maplin http://www.velleman.be/ot/en/product/view/?id=8946

ok, i have never done this before
i want to stencil paint some lettering onto mu MV, but have never done before?

anyone?
We have a MOD stencil cutter 1/2" & 1" what to you need cutting??

I have good results from a simple unit called Boyer Bransden inductive discharge ignition kit. Made by a company near to Maidstone (Boyer Bransden funnily enough).
It is the size of a small cigarette packet, the points are still used but only in a switching mode with minimal current, so they will not burn. Because the points have an easy life they may well last 25,000 miles. This unit is easily wired in to the system between coil and distributor. Available in either 6 or 12 volt, pos or neg earth...state which. The instructions say if fitting to a vehicle with auto gearbox, the idle speed may need reducing after fitting, this shows you how it improves the spark. I have used two on WW2 vehicles and am very pleased. May be able to use on a Rolls B range engine, would need a bit of fidling with the wires though. Best part of all, they were only about £25 when I last bought one, so well worth a go.
Any problems with it, the original sytem can quickly be reverted to.
Richard
A bit like this then http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=3162&criteria=electronic%20ignition&doy=19m3

Any one recommend a good firm in South Essex??
Wouldn't mind driving a Stollie to Coalhouse or even to Beltinge but any further would be probitively expensive on fuel at about 3mpg....

from another forum:
Hi all, I see that on the 10th anniversity of Dunblane, the Sunday herald is running a public poll asking if all firearms should be banned.
Do your bit and vote no.

Just took a look at the Dartford Crossing web site - http://www.highways.gov.uk/roads/projects/4075.aspx - FAQ page and there it says that to qualify for free crossings a vehicle that is tax exempt has to be so due to clauses 18 or 19 of Schedule 2 of the Vehicle Excise and Registration Act.
This - in a nutshell - says the driver has to be registered disabled!
Ah yes but those guys in the booths are not that well educated.. we get told every time if the tax is free so is the toll..
-
Lee,
You need a commander to pay the toll at Dartford though!
Chris
No you don't if you have a free tax disk..
Pardon??????????? Are tax exempt vehicles also toll exempt now????
There was me wasting all that good worrying about how to pay the toll from the drivers seat of a Stalwart :? :?
Correct, tax exempt = toll free. As from about two weeks ago you don't even have to fill in the bit of paper anymore, you just tell them it's tax exempt, they get out of their little box take a quick shifty of the tax disk & away you go. Get a little board made up saying "Tax Exempt" to flash at them..
Coalhouse Fort, today..
