  1. We were told this when we last visited the archives last year.. there was suggestion that archives may all end up at Duxford but not with the same access to it as we have now :dunno:

  2. Yes you need a licence to hold the cartridges.

No.. they are exempt under the Firearms act.. "Blank cartridges not exceeding 1 inch in

diameter are also exempt from the certification procedure." they fall within this classification.. anyway don't require any cartridges just some info on this starter, dated 1952 and fitted to the Chipmunk..

  3. Being ignorant of such vehicles - it looks a right mess!! I guess salvageable at a cost though???

So - did you find something to invest in Lee?????

    ARMED, DANGEROUS AND STREET LEGAL

Soft-skin not hardcore enough for you? John Blackman takes to the road with three owners who have discovered the answer; post-WW2 wheeled armour... relatively affordable, relatively practical and completely street legal.

  5. Tend to do it in smaller groups Richard, mainly because working on Armour is a little restrictive anyway. But agree it is indeed a good idea especially when one doesn't have the neccessary skills (eg. welding).

I try and aid Lee as much as poss as he does me especially when it comes to those awkward to reach places.

& I take John everywhere with me in case I get a puncture.. bloody heavy those Fox tyres

  6. do you guys ever hold "work shop meets" :dunno:

another forum i used to visit held these things and went along the lines of....

"i have a series 2 that needs some work, can put x amount of people up and of course supply tea all weekend and hot food"

went to a few and was a good way to meet people, learn new things and of course what go's around comes around.

    so any ideas

Why, what you need fixing :dunno: ;-)

  7. Anyone know anything about Lot 347 "Tracked Test Vehicle" ?There's no photo but it sounds interesting . Is it what you can see behind Lot 330 the Glover Webb buggy & next to Lot 338 the Sabre ?
