  1. Yes, undo the crossmember bolts and slide it bacwards as far as it will go.This gives you enough room to pull the gearbox. Last time I changed a gearbox on mine it was done in three hours from start to finish. cheers from Bjørn.

  3. Started out 0600 this morning to go pick up my ben hur trailer, drove 300 km. there and back and got to meet some kids restoring a WC62 and a WC52. And they where doing a great job at that. Got home for lunch and drove of in the civy car to get new springs to fit to my WC52. Got home 2300, and I am still exited. What a great hobby this is!

  7. Hello, it has the original 270 gm engine. I have not driven it for more than a few hours at a time, but I can see no problems in taking a long trip. Let me know if you want it and I will get an export license. Cheers, Bjørn

  8. The tyres are starmaxx 9.00x16.00. Made in turkey. I put them on the dodge yesterday,but have not tested them offroad yet.A few pictures.
  9. I think the sugested method of undoing the bolts a little and inflating the tube again is probably the fastest safest way of doing it.And the rim is not tight fitting when cleaned up,it is the rust thats holding it back.Anyway,good luck.Bjørn
  10. Pictures of my combat wheels.As you can see I cut the rubber of one of the rims.It is all coming along nicely,and I expect to be back on the road shortly.Have a nice spring.Bjørn

Hi, I have just split four dodge wheels.The two of them I had a mate split at a tyre shop (a good option),and the last two I split myself.Both of them where like superglued to the rims.One had gone soft in the sidewalls,so I cut around the rim with a knife and a malet.The other I used a prying bar,big screwdriver,tyre iron and lots of time to pry out of the rubber.If you have the time,just do it.But stop before you try to inflate it without the nuts.Thinking that is a "good idea). Hi all, I am changing tires on my dodge this spring.And after wrestling with and actually having to cut a tire from the wheel today I felt like relaxing by reading a bit here.As always good tips and threads to read.I was lucky enough to be given(for a bottle of spirits) some dodge and gmc wheels the other day,and the funny thing was.That when I split one of the wheels,I found it to be in very good condition.And that is after lying at the edge of a field for about ten years! The ones I have had on the dodge require ALOT of clanup/rust removal.Will post more soon on the progress.And finally just have to post a picture of the good old gmc used to collect the new tires.   13. Yes I do belive that is a chevrolet,dual wheels and all.There is a big locker at the side of the vehichle,maybe signal corps or engineers? Very interesting truck,havent seen many of those on the road. Bjørn
