  1. totally legal if you have a licence...thats why its always best to be legal...they cant get you for anything then...like l;ife jackets worn over the clothing not under...:-D
  2. yes its just off the a33 on the way into reading from alton...just on the side of the road...should not be difficult to find...I am taking my Gaz and my 432 now...the stolly has sprung a leak from the hub...
  3. Yes i wrote to the UK department that does it and they said we dont answer questions on whether you need a licence or not...you just have to apply for one...what a crock of ****e...this country is completely and totally screewed...
  4. thank god he was in the ferret is all i can say...if it had been a car he would not have been here I guess...speedy recover for sure...
  5. they are now fetching silly prices...but the onep[ictured fully restored is not for sale, but it would be of the order of about 15000, plus delivery to the UK...say another 1200 to 1500 quid at the worst...but truthfully they are like hens teeth at the moment...although i may have just found that elusive hen...will let you know..
  6. photos are posted as follows: http://photobucket.com/paulobrienbigmachinesforsale
  7. ooh Neil, I completely forgot...let me try today...
  8. yes loads of photos, but cant seem to post the pictures..will try again tonight...
  9. hey i need all the details i can get if you can contact him...manuals are my first chase...then anything to do with servicing etc and operating etc would be really good, english or polish... Am back now, gaz is running around my place, brakes need sorting, master cylinder leaking, seals gone and canvas has gone fragile and needs a new one...but she runs fine if a bit choked, think she needs a good run... but will sell this one as I am not into small jeeps...
  10. I can sell you a t-55 if you want one, two actually....I am just negotiating the purchase of one of those sp2 122 mm self proplelled guns from Russia nice machine....will float too...unbelievable that..
  11. not sure a ural 375d will ever be economical as a commercial truck, its more the fun of ownership...if you are using them commercially okay there may be an argument to have the full set of safety bars fitted. But as its a classic ex military vehicle from the 60's, even if it was still in production until the mid eigthies...it should really be left alone...its not as if its going to be doing many millions of miles up and down motorways etc...but understand about which office it goes too.
  12. taking my stolly, FV432 and the newly acquired gaz 69....anyone else going. If yhou are come chat...I will be the one under in on or around my trucks fixing things...
  13. thats good news as the two urals are 1984/1983 models...i really do not want to fit tachos and side safety bars...
  14. okay just missed the last brdm being sold, will talk to the guys about spares though, the owner has a pristine brdm 1 so I am sure he can get spares...I have fallen for Star 660...full diff locks petrol engine from around the 60/70's...not very fast but looks as if it will be great in the mud... Ural 375d... and a star 266 with diesel engine, this is a really modern trruck but am worried about having to fit a tacho and side bars in the UK...really dont want to have to do that...at what age do you have to have these fitted for the MOT...anyone know I have seen a few skots, nothing very good...hoping to find more..and have a man with four 813's that look as if they have been worked very hard so may get them very cheap... Am very interested in the sp 122 guns they have and the galil missile carrier....not bad prices but i haven started the proper negotiations yet...and delivery to the Uk is a big cost..makes cheap vehicles not cheap anymore...but we are having a good deal of fun playing and looking, have loads of photos will post them when I get back...
  15. no vehicles today just organising and meetings...those done now and tomorrow off to see the trucks...then the skots then the star 66 and 266 and maybe just maybe tatra 813's hope to buy a goodish gaz 69 tomorrow too...
  16. first day, 749 miles and saw hotel at midnight...so we headed in...about 100 miles from poznan so will finish the journey tomorrow morning...was easy journey and but for having the kids we could have made it in three or four hours less time...dad can I STOP FOR A YOU KNOW WHAT, MY LEGS ARE STIFF, DAD i AM HUNGRY, DAD I AM THRISTY...YOU ALL KNOW THE LINES...anyway so far so good...just chilling in the Motelr Petro on the a2 to poznan...got a very busy schedule planned but am also thinking of detouring via prague...just a though for the moment depends upon how the week goes...
  17. No, Richard is a fine chap and a professional, and he has been very very helpful recently...he does it for a living I am doing this for a bit of fun for the moment.. I want to use my buying power to help me build up my complete fleet, SO I WILL BE SELLING A FEW OF THE TOYS TO KEEP FUNDING MY AMBITIONS...:-D..and I WANT TO TRAVEL BACK AND FORTH TO POLAND AND EASTERN EUROPE PLAYING WITH TRUCKS AND MILITARY STUFF... :-D I love the military hardware, but I want to drive them not look at them so this seems like the ideal bit of fun for me...I have the time generally so am keen to give this a go... So if anyone wants a truck let me know..
  18. head moving and indicators are vital, especially when stopping, and when moving off of course...but dont forget to use them when the instructor calls you to stop by him...i nearly did...emergency stop straight as a die please...and dont forget to be courteous to other road users if you are on the road...
  19. dave sure will...all depends on how i get on...to be honest the thought of buying them and having them trailered seems daft to me...I want to drive them back and make it an adventure, okay so it may get boring after the 50th time but who cares...Anyway I have a lot to organise first, not least will be the paperwork,,,and bringing the trucks back driving means they have to be registered first but i am working on this issue...
  20. great start dougy...will send info when i can...
  21. First time I failed becuase i was too hesitant..cods wallop in my eyes... second time I failed because i hit a cone...that was totally unbelievable first and only time I had hit a cone throught out my week long course...dumb ass I am... third time I passed but it was the worst of the three in my opinion
  22. I am looking at about 20 skots so will keep my eye open neil... am really looking forward to this trip...pouring over loads of ex military trucks and things, cant wait...
  23. hmm okay to do it properly I need a big road side compressor. It will get into the bearings...bugger... Needles guns slowly but harder work, but not if it gets into the bearings it isnt... I have a needle gun and twin cylinder compressor on 2hp though so only 10cfm...hmm maybe will try needle gun first...
  24. OKAY WILL DO...but hope to be bringing back a few this trip...
  25. Okay I have never done any, never seen it done and there is no one locallty to tell me how it is done... I have a good ish compressor or do i need one of those road side ones...i have a small grit blasting gun but guess that will be too small for doing my 432... So can anyone give me a bit of advice on what to get and how to use it etc etc...what about the grit getting into the engine things like this...I need some advice...
