  1. crikey and we all thought the american police were awful, (well i did)...that is really good.

seems like we dont have police any more...well not those that help the community...

  2. and that is a very good law...it is a deterrent to stop people running out of MOT, better than what this government is proposing...

but hauling it has to be by far the best way, what if you break down, it is a new truck to you and recovery will cost a darn site more than a pre booked transporter, if its less than about 3m high it can go on a 6 wheeler or even a 4 wheeler if its within the weight and height limits ...and that will be cheaper than a low loader by a long way...

  3. keep me posted neil, i will have a truck coming back in the next few weeks and likely you can get your truck on one of them...I may have a space, if I do you can have it, but if you dont take it I will fill it with another something...hopefully an MTLB which I am chasing hard...and I had a nice tax rebate this month so I have a bit more to spend than expected...

  4. Hi Neil,

Yes had a good look around it. It needs a bit of tidying work but nothing that a quick lick of paint and a bit of wall paper and maybe a bit of carpet wouldnt hurt...I think it is really good and will easily fit a permanent loo in the middle...

will be good to have two stars near to each other they are so damn good looking and if the weather is good we can go alfresco...open top...

Hey you cant get more patriotic than two stalwarts, if you want patriotism beyond the call of duty that has to be it...

  5. so true but in this market collectors are making matters worse by paying these high prices....dont pay the big amounts and the prices will fall. But to be honest prices inevitably have to go up because restoring and running these things these days is no longer cheap..and that has to be reflected in the sale price...I bought some cheap trucls from poland, cheap until I started to sort them, new starters, new water pumps and new this and that and all of a sudden they arent cheap anymore...I could sell them unsorted I suppose but that not the way i would want to buy them so i wont sell them that way...

  6. its not so much the transmissions age, i am more concerned about snatch loads on it. the best way to avoid that is to have enough real power to keep moving and not have to rev and shake the thing if it is struggling...well thats my theory..realisitically anything over 200 bhp will be enough, this thing will never carry much load so a cummins in line 8 seems to be the way to go...and yes get your point about the sump now, we may need to do a bit of work on the sump...or cut a hole in the tubb...?

    plans are in progress...

  7. that is such a waste, if he sells them i want one...

anyway, mine is up and running today, needed a new carburettor, had a spare, and she is running fine,....engine will go into my broken one and this one is getting a diesel or maybe it will be the other way round anyway she sounds very sweet...am very happy now...

lots to do but stage on passed the engine works...now just got to do the brakes the throttle the clutch etc etc etc...

  8. okay I have stalwart number two, she looks too good to break up so i think she is going to become a bit of a project...got to find me another old tatty stolly to use as the off road toy, maybe a mark 1...will post picces tiomorrow so we have a before and after record...this is going to be fun..she is going to become a sand version first...maybe with a diesel engine for fun..maybe not...

    neil no brakes

    including handbrake.

steering okay without power..engine hoepfully will be started in the next week or so...so loads of work to do...
