Let me see what I can find tomorrow, I don't have many manuals here, just a few diesel ones, but might have something on my PC.

They are perfectly viable projects, just a lot of time and money is required!

They are horrible, but I wish my Scimitar hull was as complete as these when I bought it!
They will make about £3k scrap.

On a positive note, at least you can get to the back of the bumper to paint over that rust now!
-
The Northern Ireland up armoured examples like the Pigs are also worth less than vehicles in their original configuration as you can do less with them.
I wouldn't have said that.. To some people the NI history is a plus when looking at a vehicle.

You need to ask your paint manufacturer which thinners they suggest. As for ratio, you need to experiment a bit and see what works best. Practice on something first, a big card board box works for me, get your fan the right shape and make sure the paint is atomising nicely. I find I don't need much thinners.

Thread cleaned up.

Any vehicle you see with an SA80 in it will probably have airsoft guns in it. They can be had for about £30 and fill the brackets, some of them might need fettling to fit.

The bloke with the British CVRTs has a Belgian Sultan which was mine.

I agree, prices were high, but at the same time there seemed to be loads of deacts for sale. D&B militarias tent was overflowing with them, I saw a whole pallet of Sterlings in there.

As Lee has said before, if you have any issues with the way the show is run you need to address them to the show organisers. Having a punch up on this forum doesn't get anyone anywhere. We all go to the show for our own reasons, if you don't like it then don't go..

Having spent a few Laps each day following it, I wish it was doing a bit more speed! Always seemed to be slowing me down!

Fantastic effort getting the Sabre round the arena. Just goes to show what can be done when you make a few calls and talk to the right people!

The marshals told us off for driving the cvrts on the grass, in case we damaged it! That and the poor one way system which means everyone has to drive through the middle of the arena will need some looking at for next year!

Is it correctly selecting the gear or not? Does it select and then slip or does it not select at all? Try changing up and down the box with the top cover off to verify. If its a selection problem then you need to check/adjust the linkages. If its slipping in gear then that's another issue!

Keep getting these pop-ups with a really annoying womans voice, which I ignore and close, does any one else get them and if so where do they come from?

This is probably caused my some malware on your pc. Do you have a virus scanner? It would be worth checking add/remove programs in control panel and removing anything that looks suspicious.

A low loader seems a bit excessive for 35 miles, can you not drive it?

Don't the manufacturers bear the cost of the development of the product though ? Surely that 'cost' shouldn't be passed on to the final buyer (the MoD) ?.....
After all...there would be a veritable queue of companies lining up to offer goods of all descriptions to the MoD if they were told the MoD were going to pay the entire development /prototype / experimental costs ??? ..
...heck....come to think of it...I'd offer to tender for something if that was the case ???..
now then :cool2:..what can I build in my shed ?? :cool2:
Any product you buy from any manufacturer has had significant development work carried out to produce it. If your products are high volume then the cost of development spread over the number of products is small. If you are spending millions of pounds designing and developing an armoured vehicle and only a small number get made, then you would either want the customer to pay up front or the % of development cost in each vehicle price would be higher.
When we are talking about CVRTs you have to remember how small the numbers produced for the MoD are... 350 Scimitars, 300 Scorpions, 136 Sabres, 89 Strikers, only about 50 Samaritans etc

Quite a bit more for a Scimitar!
