Quick one guys, had Quick test with spray gun very dark olive drab and dried somewhat shiny is it a case of not being stirred enough prior to mixing. It is a matt paint
It usually takes some time to matt down.

I have always found them to be very helpful. You need to get hold of the vehicle team. Try this number 0300 322 7071.

The later British Olive Drab, does anyone have a reference to a suitable product or paint code, perhaps a BS381 number?
Also, is there reference to when they went away from the Olive Drab to DBG? 1951 seems to ring a bell 🤔

I can't remember if I saw this post but I would be interested in tyres for a Lwt Land Rover. They should be 9.00 x 16, but I have to use 9.50 x 16 as the others are not available in the UK.
Currently I have fitted Deestones but with the proper looking British Army tread, but Im told the British Army never fitted 9.50 x16, so a source for the smaller ones would be great.
I think the tread pattern is Michelin XZL
Larry,
You posted with the correct 6.50 size earlier and have now posted again with the incorrect sizes. What you need are 6.50x16 Goodyear Xtra Grip. Sometimes Withams have them on their online auctions but they will be NOS and quite old by now.

Another video *claiming* Scorpions are being bought for Ukraine. I'm not saying it's not so, but considering the hassle involved in moving even smoke dischargers, I'll believe it when I see one in the country,
It’s nonsense. The video is full of inaccuracies. There were never 3000 Scorpions built for the British Army, even if you include Abbots which this video also seems to think is a Scorpion. Where are they going to get them from?
Spartans and Sultans have been sold off in large numbers over the last few years so there were plenty about. The Ukrainians only wanted diesels. There were around 300 Scorpions built for the British Army. Of these about 30 were converted to diesel which were used at BATUS and sold off about 10 years ago, now dispersed around the world. 136 Scorpions became Sabres, the rest were sold off/scrapped in the early 90s.
Its possible they could be from another country eg Jordan, but they won’t be buying a fleet of British Scorpions.

Radiator blind?
Yes, definitely not big enough for a glazed aperture

Tax it online when they send you the reminder.

U.K. CVRTs were fitted with a Cummins 6BTA during the life extension programme. The Stormer has the Perkins engine.
Spartans with the diesel engine are now thin on the ground as the Ukrainians have hoovered up any which dealers had in stock and most of the privately owned ones. Strikers are also thin on the ground as the only ones available are the petrol ones. The diesel strikers were stripped for spares and used as hard targets.

That vehicle has been through the paint shop at Withams, the silver louvres at the back is how they painted them and not how they left service.

I'm sorry I don't have Scorpion-specific information, but here's a couple pages for the Sabre (might be the same plate?). I'm hoping we get a nice spot to upload a library of manuals.
Different plate.

Will I still need a NOVA with her being British built and demobbed in Britain?
Unfortunately yes. I phoned them and explained my situation, they emailed me a form to fill in. I suggest you do the same.

I doubt you’ll get a copy of the 654, they were hand written. Your best bet to get it registered will be to have it verified by a club like the MVT. You’ll also need a NOVA. I’ve had to get one recently for a vehicle which was imported many years ago and HMRC were very helpful.

I made all the cables for my Ferret intercom using the cable from RS. Soldering the plugs on was a fun job…
Any ideas as to what part of a jeep this used to be?
