Superb photo and such a good looking car, even in cammo!

Being a Design Engineer by trade and everything now done on a computer, you have to take your hat off to those Engineers back then.
Those drawings are so important to be kept, such a good source of information for future generations and restorers.

Thats true, it would have been a long time in planning it and funding etc.

It does seem a strange time to be investing such a huge amount of money into a museum.
Best of luck to them though and hope it can be a success.

Cant say I recall ever seeing one of those, I will have a look through my books and see if I can find one.

Wow, I like that!

Yes they do, just search for Classic Spares on Google and you should find it.

Cheers for the info guys! Sadly internal bits are missing from this one so I think a re-ferb is off the cards!
If you did want to try I still think its a good idea to talk to Ian at Classic Spares, he can supply parts and refurb or give advice.

So, finally I have an account and can put a few photos up for myself! Thanks so much Tim Gosling though for sharing some of the adventures had so far with my Liberty B.
Here’s a few photos of her at last years Dorset Steam fair and then photos of having her rear brakes stripped and re lined, drums skimmed, new tyres fitted and ready for her drive last November to Ypres Belguim for Armistice day 2019.
I probably have photos of her at Dorset, lovely seeing these WW1 lorries so well preserved.

A couple of videos last November on our trip to Ypres.
In case anyone is wondering why Ari is sat on the bonnet it’s because we were losing the radiator cap pin so he was doing his best to keep hold of it at a staggering 18 mph!
Superb stuff, what wonderful lorries.

My good friend and joint owner of this vehicle heads up that section at GDSF so yes we are very involved with it there. Shame we won’t be there this year.
It is a great shame, we do enjoy it down there as we do all the shows that we usually attend.

Thought I recognised it (them). We spend a lot of time wandering round the WW1 section.

Hi there, finally I’ve managed to open my account on this page lol.
Here are a few photos showing our Locomobile which will eventually become a double decker ww1 “battle bus”. Long way to go but a good start with what’s there already. I’m sure my “ mentor” Tim will fill in all the details far better than I can😁👍
Do you show at the WW1 section at Dorset?

You are seeing the same thing that I am seeing. I am hoping that a few may be involve with restoration in the UK. Sadly, probably most of them went to the scrap yard after being worn out and are now someones stove!

You never know what still survives, if someone knows you are looking it might throw up some leads.

Yes.....patience is important, for sure, when looking for "bits and pieces". In the past I have had antique automobile projects that have come together quite nicely with persistence and patience. You do need to look under every rock along the way as you never know what you will find or be referred to by another hobbyist.

Its good to get the word out what you are looking for in as many useful places like the forum.
You never know what one person may have tucked away or whether someone could give you a lead to investigate.

Not really coming across Riker trucks before I have just had a search round on the net. I notice a few mentions of Locomobile trucks on the Automobile of America club, with a few pics too.
It really does look like a rare make of truck, with only a few survivors.

How much of your Riker is left? Enough to work from or just some bits and pieces?

Welcome to the forum.
So how much of the Riker do you have left? Sounds like a really interesting vehicle.
Kevin.

If you want it refurbed Classic Spares down in Kenton, Devon would probably do it.
We have had spares for Clayton Dewandre servos from them before and they offer an exchange service.

Thank you very much, that explains a lot.
Obviously Bedford bowser couldn't be possibly 1308 or 1306. So perhaps someone made a mistake writing the number on the door. Or maybe I misread it and it's 1508 or 1506?
I attach photo for reference, I guess it is fair use if I add source. It is from Polish Wings no 16 on Spitfire XVI by Wojtek Matusiak, page 37.
Would you be so kind and check also 1508 and 1506 for me?
Lovely photo.

Not wartime but about 1949/50, a lovely Commer Q2 15cwt. These are ultra rare, they were supplied with the WW2 pattern 15cwt body, like the Bedford MW.
On Milweb currently https://www.milweb.net/webvert/a4796/98834
I did see that one Richard, lovely little truck and like you say very rare.

I have done a bit of digging and have found a photo of it, its a postwar Q4 like you say.
The photo is on flickr and it looks like its just left out to pasture.
Thanks for the thought.

I remember seeing a Commer in the yard at the Muckleburgh Collection last year. I couldn't say whether it's still for sale, but I don't think there was much interest in it.
Do you know what type and sort of age? Was it for sale from their collection or private?

Absolutely superb. I know its pre-Rootes but I always like seeing the Karrier badge and sat proudly on that radiator too.
The whole job looks very smart and I take my hat off to you.
