need help i am trying to get the rev counter to work.i have fitted a rolls 265 to no nuts from an ERF ,i took out the electronic rev counter and grafted it into another set of clocks and then fitted them. i did not take much notice of the wiring as i thought it went to the alternater,(it does not) there is a censor on the clutch housing? there is 3 wires coming out of rev counter, can you help ?:confused:

thor698 are you going to bobs soon i said he could have the handle reaction valve for his truck no good for me wrong sort. from what he said the truck is coming allong still got a fare bit to do though.c u soon :-D

yes they are helpfull ,i think their folder is 12 foot long.:-D

i am pleased to say i have orderd the mian of the bearings from chrisg, he was very helpful so in the next few weeks i will be able to show a few pics of the bearing being changed weather permitting :-D

yes you can put them on your drive with room to spare and cheaper to run but no so much fun:yay:

i was once told that a highwayman rear axle has the same diff ect as the front exploer axle is this true?:??? i haved to admit the centre of the axle casing looks similar.

i sat down and drank the bottle.you have listed 4 bearings i need 2 of one size ,and 2 other seperat bearings and the seal .can i ring you.

yes i bet ,it was a chalk pit that was used as a tip then capped hence verey soft ground then we were told it was a ssi .

no we were winched out by a 75 hp ford tracktor :embarrassed::blush:

first it was the martian with trailer,then the two scammells at the front .they were trying to get her out .and then me at the back trying to get the trailer so they had somwehere to sleep.these photos were taken in the morning .we got stuck at night 12.30 in the dark,would of been wors if land owner had not turned up and said stop .IT VEREY DECEPTIVE IN THE DARK

tell you the truth my head is spinning bearings are so complicated :confused: my mate said he was verey lucky to get his, but he did not write down the numbers of the new ones ,as he hopes he will never have to do it again. also he likes the forum as every one tries to help. sadly his computer is broken but he now has enthusiasm to get it fixed an join in on the dialogue:yay:

it is amazing as i am talking to the forum a mate and fellow scammeller turns up with some bearings ,:yay:all nakered but can see numbers:sweat: front axle S H N1090 is on the inner , Hoffmann THRUST 545ACD ENGLAND on outer part ( i need 2 of these ) front axle R380 is on the inner ,Hoffmann R360 ENGLAND on outer part front axle seal BOAT335212 Rear axle R355L .V3 England hoffmann is on the outer dont know about inner no much left i hope this helps thank you :-D

the bearing is for the front axle the number is from the scammell 6x6 parts book, ball bearing bevel pinion the number is in a collum marked M.T. or Proprietary part No. (MT7/1960) and then underneath it says Hoffmann N1090 .i hope this helps:-D

thank you no i have not . i tried express bearing , did not know the numbers. left it with them but still could not help very good at selling me stuff of the shelve though oil grease ect.:???

hi richard all the info i got out of the scammell parts book contract No 6/VEHS/3724/CB.27(A). sorry to say not mine on loan. nice clean book, such good drawings. i would liked to of photo copied it but told it is dodgy due to copy write :-( .

are you ready there is a lot and from what i have been told they are B----Y expensive if you can get them. front axel ball bearing -bevel pinion MT7/1960 (Hoffmann N1090) roller bearing-bevelpinion MT7/2974 oil seal MT1/PT335212 bearing worm shaft type LV6/MT7/1979 (Hoffmann No 580 CDS) bearing worm shaft type LV6/MT7/2017 (Hoffmann No R380L)

i was going to fit a fuller gearbox so all the drive train would be compatable:-D

Itake it you did not hit your head then, when i go there i usualy draw blood ,not that forgiving metal . :cry:
