  6. sorry to hear that ,I got my bolts from all fix but im sorry to say they were rather exspensive and not to military standered. It apears that any thing in AF or BSF or BSW has got to be made as it is no longer in common use.
  7. Ok but it is a bit long winded, my lorry had been used on the beach for winching up boats, so all the nuts and bolts had rusted up,so when i dismantled it i split the nuts so saving the bolts. At this time i decided with a littel help from thor to change the engine, to a rolls 220. In the prosses of puting back together I was sent into the shed to find some nuts and bolts to whitch i replied " Iv got bolts but no nuts". then my wife said "phil no nuts", then burst out laughing and so did thor.I thought as a laugh i would paint it on for one show only but every one liked it so it stayed.
  8. i use them often at work. Mine are loose , so wot i do is bite them in my mouth , one is softer than the other and so marks easier this is the ali one.The same applies to solid rivets.
  9. on my scammell exploer the master isolater switch disconnects the + and the - on the starter lines and the charger field energise line ,and finally on the ignition. it is quite a large unit by todays standerd but it works well if any thing gose wrong it kills everything.
  10. hi mate i thought this might be of intrest no nuts (YSL662) chassis number is 7006.I also have three other chassis not much left as they were striped for spares before i got them, but i do have numbers as folows 9223 , 8103 , 800? i think the last number is a 6
  11. airight tea boy where is the biscuits. any way it got to greasy so i turned it inside out. at the end of the day it was only fit to us as a rag or fire starter. yes your truck does leak after all its british.
  12. Hi jack yes i do but last year we did not. lovely show but the hedges keep smashing the mirrors and ripping off the gutters on my livingvan. It is very tight going down the lane to the show and if you meet somone "OH NO!"
  13. I know wot you mean mate my scammell likes to leave a trail, sometimes i feel like hansel and gretal:rofl:when asked "wont me". still it usage is about 2 pints of gear oil every 50 miles. the seal between gearbox and transferbox so one drains into the other over filling it. i must get the size of the seal from thor as he has done his.
  14. hi thor this HMV site is a bit addictive , i have got to fight to get the computer and then there is a time limit.
  15. yes she is all mine and she looks better in the photo than i seam to remember. i think this is at dorset steam just after i had to rebuild the rear pinion all the bearings smashed up due to the rear split pin shearing nut undone allowing the pinion to slide back and forth. it also broke the oil pump ,still bit of a problem there.
  16. i have got a scammell exploer chassi no 7006 reg YSL662 built 1950 one of the first batch ,i call her (no nuts) there is a reason and it is not the one most people think:laugh:

  21. Hi.I live in wiltshire and have owned my lorry (no nuts) for 10 years, and I have been rallying for 8. This year as usual there is a long list of jobs to be done:-(. I'm relieved to see that there is alot of you in the same boat. Being a new member to this forum I am keen to see how you progress and how you overcome inherant problems due to lack of spare parts.:-D
  22. hi Graham hope the spanner works.it is to wet and cold down here, knee deep in mud where it is not frozen. went to move the truck wheels frozen into the ground rather than break somthing waiting for a warmer day, still a good excuse to stay in and try to source some bits.
