  1. Too much fun to do long or steady videos :-)
  2. Had a great day at the show, thanks to Rick I managed a unique experience, a trip around in a Cromwell. Might never manage that again in my life, expecially the beer with the guys on the stinking hot engine deck after the run!
  3. Lee, on the site map Kitchener Field looks the largest, how is it arranged? Is there any kind of order based on vehicle type or period? Looks its the field furthest from the public entrance, so must ensure I don't miss it!
  4. Where abouts is your pitch going to be at the Show? I don't know how the system works at W&P, do they tell the armour guys in advance where they will be or will you only know when you arrive?
  5. Is there usually a stall selling period auto electrical parts? I'm looking for cloth braided HT lead and 40's suppressed plug connectors.
  6. Made a productive parts trade this morning, Pete got some hard to find brake components for his Universal Carrier project and I got an original tow spring with hook and a pair of British made Carrier bogies, a nice comparison set with one cast unit and one fabricated. Does anyone have four good wheels and one track return roller?
  7. So that is what the hole in the rear of the turret is for.
  8. Saturday please....or I could ask Jack to rig up a cardboard cutout. It's hardly likely I'll catch it, I managed to miss the A&E 2010 one, too busy putting on a brew.... I wondered why it had gone quite at our end of the field :undecided:
  9. I think Rex's Pz IV is an empty hull. Great in dioramas though....
  10. I was looking for info on Munsters new Tiger 1 exhibit and located this interesting video on their Panzer IV driving around on an open day. You don't hear an original Pz IV very often so I thought I would post a link to the HD video.....I think they need a new set of rings [video=youtube_share;LyHSdKKtM7U]
  11. Alex, wouldn't be my place to say yes or no. Perhaps you could help me out on another subject, PM sent.
  12. I was informed this week on the Loyd Carrier social network:-D that a freshly restored Loyd is going up forsale soon, if anyone is interested I can forward your details to the owner.
  13. Exhaust stub pipe castings trial fitted, still need to turn the top bolt hole into a slot - like originals.
  14. I notice that metal tracks are now allowed only on a case by case basis (presume carriers will be fine, armour more tricky) so it isn't quite back to the 'good old days'. Kind of like A&E.
  15. I missed this year but a friend at work made it down, had a great time but said he thought the 'VIP' viewing areas were becoming too large and restricting normal members of the public to rather limited viewing. Just his opinion.
  16. At long last! The final bogie gave up and came off the rear x-tube this afternoon, the two x-tubes were checked for fit on the chassis but now need heating and a couple of dents taken out to give a good fit, the RHS front x-tube needs a new bracket making at the same time. After that they can both go for blasting. In theory the brackets should allow the x-tubes to move side to side and then be held in their ideal position with a pinch bolt, in my case there is so much corrosion between the brackets and the tubes that freeing them off could well destroy them. As such I am hoping that everything lines up in its corroded position!
  17. I'm sure those words don't belong in the same sentence.
  18. Thanks for the information Adrian. I particularly like the photo due to the Loyd Carrier motoring down the road!
  19. Whoever advised him on the value was way off. A similar uncut UC was up for £30-40,000 last year, I really can't imagine where the £75,000 came from.
  20. What exactly is a Normandy Cowl when it's at home?
  21. Gosh (or words to that effect) that sold quickly, now you can give all the cash to ESSO to feed the Cromwell Unleaded :-D
  22. Looks the part Rick....I am beginning to think that I work too slowly :embarrassed:
  23. I've just received an email with a link to the FOTM new site: http://www.friendsofthetankmuseum.org/
