  1. Nope not tents or anything else
  2. Recovering what, with a thin thing like that?
  3. Just as well he didn't have an itch at the front :shake: This is another component of the kit issued to man having a stroll.

  5. PMs works fine. But I now find when I get an email notification there is a problem. I click on the link, it takes me to the PM dept but it is all displayed differently. Instead of the messages all laid out. Following the link, the message is there at the bottom. But there is a reply box already laid out including the message I have received. Just like when you reply to a thread & press the quote button. BUT the "To" portion has someone elses name! This has happened twice tonight. I clicked the link, filled in the message & as it was posting I saw a different persons name. So I sent him a PM apologising. I then got an email notification of his reply saying OK & not a problem So I clicked on to respond. Got taken to the message pad with his message laid out in it. But in the "To" field yet another different person appeared. Both of these other people have recently posted on the forum but none of us have exchanged PMs before. I can learn not to follow the link, but it does go to show how careful you have to be about what you say & who you sent it to! BTW spell checker is still down, it says done but if I make a speeling mistack it doesn't pick up on it. It was quite a useful facility which few forums have.
  6. Ummh, getting warm, does this help?
  7. :-D :-D :-D Yes very good. No it's not actually a dog he's pulling. I don't think I like the walk of this man & the hand posture, but what the h*ll I'm rather old fashoined. Anyway here is a fuller picture of our friendly chap the mystery object has been removed.
  8. It does look like that, but it is actually a street pavement.
  9. I see what you mean but nope, he is more down to earth.
  10. I see what you mean but nope, he is more down to earth.
  11. No, but it certainly does look like that. You are both right there is something like that in his left hand. There aren't many clues here, but think about the environment this man is in.
  12. 13. Yes it does look like that. But appearances can be deceptive, you could be mistaken for thinking this man has no hair, no clothes & has a limp right hand or even a hook.
  14. Now this one is rather different. The picture below is from a manual on some kit used by the British Army. The difficulty is that the object is missing! I haven't doctored the picture other than not showing it all. So what is the man up to?
  15. David, good bit of strategy & thoughtmanship. Its interesting this side of things as ideas come & go, leads get missed then an apparent outsider, who has been watching all along, comes in at the last moment, bit like watching the close of an ebay auction. Although there was actually a manually operated launcher for Rovers as well:
  16. Well done David, very very good indeed. It is indeed the battery for the electrically operated tripod for operating two Vigilant ATGWs. I thought people would reckon the curved bit may be part of the missile itself. So how did you know that then?
  17. Yes you are right Richard, there it was for all to see!
  18. Yes getting very warm, well done on picking up on the missile theme. But as you sent me a banana, you'll have to choose from those options. The item is in use below:
  19. Yes absolutely, well done! So the question now is what the h*ll did it fit? Someone did start getting warm then missed following it up.
  20. Roland I've flicked through all the other series of those catalogues & couldn't find it. Although some did enter Army service they were built primarily for the requirements of the Home Office for Civil Defence via the Auxillary Fire Service rather than promoted as a military vehicle. That Yahoo site would be a good place to go. I should explain because it might not come across in translation. It sounds a dubious site but it is a pun as "rsoles" sounds like "a rse holes", but it really stands for R Series Owners & Lovers Enthusiasts Society or something like that. R Series meaning Bedford R Series. But there will be lots of godess people there.
