  2. Welcome mate, good to see another Victorian.
  3. Correct me if im wrong, but I believe the M4A4 had wider spacing between the bogies than the M4A2.
  4. G'day all A scrap metal dealer friend of mine has pulled a old model 16 Ajs engine out of a metal bin. Interestingly enough it was 1940 dated crank case. I cant say ive heard of a WD AJS but its brother the Matchless 3gl seem to be common in military use. Can anyone shed some light on this engine or have any photos if they did serve? Could it just be a civilian engine? Luke
  5. Did you fellas over the ditch, produce the same range of LP carriers like we in Aus?
  6. I remember seeing a photo of a sherman tank running over a nazi flag somewhere, but the hull of the tank was coated with a layer of cement for extra protection.
  7. My bad, well I expanded a little bit. We also produced a mortar carrier.
  8. Dont forget that us Aussies produced the LP1, LP2 and 2 pounder carriers.
  9. I have in the past when I was a kid, worn my great grandfathers great war medals on the right during the local Anzac day march as a tribute to him. I see no problem with this as an act of remembrance. But It does make me angry when people claim they served or they earned medals when they have not. More info on wearing medals in Aus http://www.defence.gov.au/minister/53tpl.cfm?CurrentId=6583 Luke
  10. Any up dates on your project Rick?
  11. Ive seen this aircraft project a number of times and been lucky enough to be there during a run of one of the engines. The last time I was there I got my own personal tour of the aircraft and workshop from a ex RAAF B24 crew member(cant remember if he was a navigator or radio operator). The team there is doing a fantastic job and its well worth the effort to go have a look if your in the area. Luke
  12. Cheers for the warm welcome Fellas Big Ray, as nice as the Harley is I want to find a WD M20 first as I a have a photo of my late grandfather (a despatch rider) sitting on his bike somewhere in Europe. I will have to dig it out and post it up.
  13. Fantastic project mate. Well done! General Lee
