Have a number of vehicles in need of a repaint and organisation is concerned the existing paint may include lead products. First up for painting is a Saladin. teletech Posted June 15 Share Posted June 15 They are very right to be concerned, lead products were used in automotive paints into the 1980s at least, though I can't specifically say what military paints used it. Offshore marine paint and some industrial paint was using it even later and I've seen that primer from old stock used up in the 1990s. A lead-surface test kit would be an easy test.
