GPW Rookie
Just back from a weekend in York and whilst there I noticed that the 25 Pounder field gun which stood outside the York Castle Museum has gone, does anybody know what happened to it? I hope it has been taken away for conservation but fear the scrapmen may have struck another blow?
timbo
I work in central York and didnt even know there was one. If I get a chance I will pop down at lunchtime and ask! Of course if it was in Yorkshire there is a good chance it's been nabbed by a certain Mr Nixon....
GPW Rookie
Many thanks, funnily enough on the journey back to Essex I noticed on the other side of the A1 going North a Morris Quad pulling a 25 PR which was in turn followed by a Range Rover with a flashing yellow beacon. What a sensible idea, and what a lovely looking piece of kit!

Wishful thinking Tim but I am sick of the sight of 25 pdr's at the moment, I need to sell two as it is. A mate of mine told me that the York gun had been promised to Elvington air Museum so it could be there. Rob................rnixartillery.
